Hints up to the top 10;

15: I don’t know what they have to do with each other, but collecting pieces of fruit takes this ball to a bonus level.

14: Go one path and just beat the game, go the other and see your father.

13: Spend your Magic Potion strategically.

12: The “hero” was actually shot during the first charge and he is still ridiculed because of it.

11: The big nuisance in each level of this game is also a shooting mini-game.

15.- Imma say Kirby Return to Dreamland but im probably wrong tho.

14 - Star Fox 64

12 - MediEvil perhaps?

15 I'm pretty sure is Kula World (Roll Away in some regions?)

13 probably incorrect but I'll guess Super Mario Bros 2 USA

So, Since I've fallen behind on my game hints. I'm just gonna do some write ups for some games on my list.

Hogwarts Legacy.

8.5/10

Hogwarts Legacy is easily the best Harry Potter game to date although there's not a whole lot of competition in that area. I remember enjoying the first 3 Harry Potter games on PS2 but it's been a while since i played them so i'm not sure how they would hold up today. i played the fourth game and thought it was awful, the 5th game was decent. I won't even bother talking about the games after that. There's also The Lego Harry Potter games which I thought were good. But it's nice to have a modern harry potter that feel like it wasn't rushed to release on time with a movie and feels authentic to the Harry Potter universe.

The thing I enjoyed the most about this game was exploring Hogwarts Castle. I loved completing the puzzles around the school grounds and finding hidden rooms and passages. The developers really did a good job of making you feel like you're in a school for wizards. I just wish they expanded on it more. Which leads to one of my complaints. The open world feels bigger than it needs to be and there's a bit too much content that feels unnecessary. I would have excluded that content to add more secrets around the castle. And make Hogwarts grounds more fleshed out.

The Art Direction is phenomenal and I don't think they could've done a better job of nailing this games art style. It has the perfect amount realism mixed with fantasy. It just captures the character of the Harry Potter Universe extremely well. Even better than any of the films have.

The combat system is good but it can start to feel a bit repetitive later on in the game. I mean there is a good variety of spells to use in combat but yet somehow it feels like something is missing...

Overall Hogwarts Legacy is a great game even better if you're a Harry Potter fan. I hope we see a sequel in the future that improves on what they have in this game. Because there is lot a potential here for an excellent game.

Ah, I felt already I am the only one liking Hogwarts Legacy this year. It is a good game, but got overshadowed by some of the amazing games released later this year.

I agree on the open world. The caste grounds are there the game shines, the open world feels like standard fare. Not bad, but not amazing, more focused on the school would've been fine. Especially since the main story is built around extra spaces only for that purpose, so the open world isn't really needed except for the entries to the main story parts. A smaller surroundings and more focus on content in school like for instance a functioning house point system dependent on your actions would've been great.

Next hints.

#15: (not Necesse)
Let's rise your settlement, before it falls again to Ruins.
Build your city and defend against the hordes of the corruption attacking at night.
Even if your colony is overrun by corruption, you gain abilities to do better next time.
This obscure indie game by a single developer receives constant updates since it's release in 2019.

#14: Demon's Souls as guessed by UnderwaterFunktown.
On the first day man was granted a soul and with it, clarity.
On the second day upon Earth was planted an irrevocable poison.
A soul-devouring demon.

#13: (not Turok)
At the time the game had a discussion surrounding it, as in difference to other games in the genre at the time it had lifes.
That was unusual for shooters in the 90s.

#12:
The kingdom of Duhan was struck by the Flash.

#11: Another Code: R – A Journey into Lost Memories as guessed by drbunnig.
In difference it's predecessor  that came to the US, this game didn't as a decision of the publisher, even though the european release already had provided an english translation.

Inarguably the most successful and most influential JRPG of all time, Final Fantasy VII very much lives up to the hype, even if certain elements have suffered over time. Look past those things, and at its core Final Fantasy VII is still an absolutely brilliant game. Even then, the few aspects that don't quite hold up are mostly due to the game's age and the era it was made in. The graphics are naturally dated, and some moments would probably no longer be acceptable if the game was made today, but the one aspect that hurts the game the most is its honestly quite shoddy localization. The translation into English is simply not very good, rife as it is with errors, weird and awkward sentences, and even mistakes that unintentionally altered certain scenes. The quality of the game still shines through, but it's still a shame that such an important part of the game falls so far below acceptable.

One of the most brilliant aspects of Final Fantasy VII is the decision to make its main character an unreliable narrator. We get to witness numerous events from Cloud Strife's point of view, yet we don't learn until much later that his recollection of events is at best incomplete, and at worst completely fabricated. This gives the game a sense of mystery and even unease, since if the player pays attention from the start they will begin to notice some strange inconsistencies in Cloud's story as the game progresses. This is also the source of many of the game's most important and well-known twists, the only thing holding the story back being the poor translation that often leaves certain aspects of the story somewhat unclear.

Final Fantasy VII also features a wonderfully flexible battle system built around the game's use of Materia as a source of abilities and stats. There are countless different combinations that the player can tinker around with. The game's world is also among the most iconic of all time, with location like Midgar, the Northern Crater, Cosmo Canyon, and others being fondly remembered for a very good reason. Finally, it also has one of the all-time great video game soundtracks by Nobuo Uematsu. Again, the game is not without its flaws, but they do very little to detract from its overall excellence.

I am always amazed how single developers can make games that hold up just fine in the influx of AAA. And now I have to add flanne to the list of these miracle devs. He made a game that gave me a lot of fun over the year.

In a way it is a development based on another such games, Vampire Survivors, initially also authored by just one person. But I think it evolves and refines the formula enough to justify to stand on it's own, even surpasses Vampire Survivors in my list.

The main difference to Vapire Survivors presents itself from the start: it is a shooter, your starter weapon is a gun (you can choose from a list) and you actively aim and shoot at the enemies. Many of the upgrades provide automatic weapons like in Vampire Survivors, but a lot of these upgrades are also in regards to the shooting function. Either way you are much more active in gameplay.

As with Vampire Survivors an important part of your game is choosing good upgrades to survive increasingly difficult waves of enemies. These upgrades offer a lot of synergies, so the right combination of upgrades is key to survival. And I mean it, your build can vary a lot and depending on your early decisions it makes some upgrades stronger or weaker.

Let's take for instance number of bullets for each gun. If you empty your gun, it has to be reloaded which let's you not shoot for an amount of time. This is a clear downside. But now come upgrades into play that trigger on reload. And these upgrades can be very powerful. Suddenly guns that hold only a limited number of bullets pose an advantage and so do upgrades that as a side effect reduce this number.

There are also synergy upgrades that are only available if you invested in a certain combination of upgrades. The different characters also add their spin. They have different abilities that may synergize with certain upgrades. The characters also can have a second attack that may play well with your choices. And runes are the passive progression tree that allows you to strengthen your character, but you have to choose from different abilities (unlike Vampire Survivors there you just max everything).

All this makes the build you choose an important decision and defines your gameplay. This means as a result, that choosing different builds in different runs changes up your experience and provides you with new possibilities.

Add to that an amazing art style in black, white and red and a good soundtrack, and you get a very addictive and fun experience. You should give this game a try, especially if you like Vampire Survivors.
