I've just updated the original post. PS2 quarters from 2013 were added, alongside this:
Explanations about how did I get to all the data for the PS2 is in the original post. I edited that one and added new info. Again it's not the best, it's not the 100% accurate, but it's better than nothing. If we go from those ones, we can get all the PS3 quarter numbers as well, however no one can be 100% sure since again it's not official. But it may be very close to the reality. This is some kind of a continuation to this thread from @Zippy6 and here is his table, but filled.
| PS2 Quarterly | PS2 Total | PS3 Quarterly | PS3 Total | PS2+PS3 Quarterly | |
| Jan - March 2012 | 0.6M | 155.1M | 1.9M | 63.9M | 2.5M |
| Apr - June 2012 | 1.2M | 156.3M | 1.6M | 65.5M | 2.8M |
| July - Sep 2012 | 1.1M | 157.4M | 2.4M | 67.9M | 3.5M |
| Oct - Dec 2012 | 1.6M | 159M | 5.2M | 73.1M | 6.8M |
| Jan - March 2013 | 1M | 160M | 2.4M | 75.5M | 3.4M |
| Apr - March 2014 | (discontinued) | 160M | 7M | 82.5M | |
| Apr - March 2015 | (discontinued) | 160M | 3.1M | 85.6M | |
| Apr - March 2016 | (discontinued) | 160M | ? | ? | |
| Apr - March 2017 | (discontinued) | 160M | ? | 87.4M |
In other words, there is no much room left for those PS2 numbers to be more, or even less. 1.2M is rock solid, since it can't be less than 1.1M and given the drops PS3 had that year, it's even looking like on the low side. Same goes for the next quarter. 1.6M is from Wikipedia page of the PS2, when you go to "Later years and discontinuation" which does not really have a source, but it's better than nothing .. and 1M is like too much for only January, but if you think about it, there is some logic to it, because of the level of interest in that point in time Sony knew they would sell all of those PS2s by end of 2013, and again the PS3 numbers, they were a little up, but totals for both was 3.4M and to be so much up year or year from 1.9M quarter the previous one really? even that 2.4M is a lot for the current performance it had. Read everything in my original post, there is a little bit more to it. Yes it's some guesswork too, but again, better something than nothing, and this is the best I came with. Not only cuz those numbers are logical, but because there is really not a big room to where the PS2 numbers can be in those quarter, based on also other opinions on the matter, as well as that information in Wikipedia about the last holiday quarter.
Edit: I gave around 2 hours for all of this research and writing and doing the comparison tables side by side in the OG post and here, therefore I may have missed something somewhere, so if anyone has some correction about any of the data and the info, please write it down, I will be glad to edit whatever needs to be fixed.
