| Norion said: I really don't think this change is needed. Unless 32m is overtracked it's reaching 36m next year for sure so 36m as the low comparison makes more sense. Even a huge 40% decline for this whole year would leave it at just about 35m by the end of December. |
The Xbox is not reaching 42M. If the rumors for next Xbox launching 2026 are true, then Xbox Series has 4-5 more to sell and in that case it will finish barely ahead of Game Boy US numbers at 36M and nowhere close to Wii at 42M.
If somehow Xbox Series continue to sell decently and do 36-37M by end of this year (which I highly doubt) I can always change back the comparison to Wii'42M, but with the declines it had last year and January ones (I know its 4 weeks, but still even weekly there is a noticeable drop, it went into the 40s, last year the lowest point was into the 50s, and it was only for like 1 month, now it's doing it in January which often times is stronger than the most of the months for the year) I don't see it doing much more than those 36M in the end, at least not anything closer to 42M. The drop it had from 2023 was more than 2.5M in the end. There will be drop from 2024 this year too, so final number won't be that far off from 36M, but a lot far from 42M. And yes, I also don't exclude the possibility of there being future adjustments down for the XBOX.
