If we were to count modern mini- retro consoles to the total sales numbers of the original platform than the SNES sales total would be at 54.6 Million instead of 49.10M since the SNES classic sold 5.5 Million units.

I think the only way that would work is if they re-release the console with an actual disc/cartridge drive that could still play those same games natively off the disc/cartridge, which I doubt will ever happen since not many people still own games from 30 years ago

First of all I was just throwing a thought. Nintendo can revive their systems too. Second, no I am not talking about mini consoles, or systems, that can't play native games in it's original form. I am talking about brand new SKU to the system with all available option the original one had, and some even better. Just like a Pro console. So for PS2, the last model was SCPH 9000, So I am saying SCPH 10 000 for example. Just like a PS4 Pro, play and works just like the original console but better. Of course this will probably never happened, but it would be interesting. And nintendo can join too of course, however not with mini consoles, but with the same machines they once sold, of course modernized, but to also be able to play natively the same old games the previos models can.
