2 days later back again. I'm on the Epilogue of Hades 2 and quite frankly, the end of the Epilogue quest is utter bull, terrible balancing on that, RNG is ruining the fun. Anyway...

The Bookwalker - Thief of Tales. - A cute little game (cute as in small as imagery is rather not cute art wise), really enjoyed it and the story it had. Simple turn based battles but mostly a point a click, finding items finding where to go and what to do, talking to characters with a fun twist ending. For the £2.40 I got it for, bargain.

Beaten Vampire Survivors again at 27 hours, still a 10. I doubt I'll Platinum as that could be a slog or perhaps collection 1.0 isn't as big in my mind. Def going to get queen sigma just as the final stopper regardless, I remember 67 hours for my last playthrough but that might have been going for 100%. Wonderful game, just pure dopamine drip non stop.

Edit: Oh Platinuming is a ways off, need collection 1.0 and that's about 10 hours off. Might do it. Might not. Might have already done it depending on how you view the linearity of space time.

Beaten Vampire Crawlers at 30 hours. Mains and sides with about an hour or two left to Platinum. I'd say it's an 8/10. It gets very engaging mid game, if they tuned in that need for brain power earlier I'd say it's a 9/10 but regardless, it's still tremedous fun early on. I hope they make an FPS next, there's one game that has tried yo follow VS as an FPS but it failed. I can only imagine what these developers could do, they are masters of the dopamine blast.

Horizon Zero Dawn - Remaster via PS+. Already have the game many times over, bought once, given ones thanks to Summer of Play during covid and playing this on PS+. Basically did it for another easy plat.

Hmm, pie.

Just Finished: Advance Wars 1 + 2 Re-Boot Camp (Switch)

I played Advance Wars Dual Strike on the DS way back in the day and enjoyed. I was very excited when Nintendo announced this game which meant I could experience both GBA Advance Wars games in one package. The games are simple on the surface but the strategy required to be successful is deep and challenging. I played the game almost exclusively in handheld mode. I think the game does a good job making war seem bright, colorful, and even kid friendly. I did not mind the art style. I only wish there were more animated cutscenes and voice acting. The game is very addicting. I 100% completed both campaigns. Each campaign clocked in at more than 40 hours for me. I've spent about 100 hours with the game total. This is my most played Switch game, surpassing BOTW. I enjoyed AW 2 campaign a bit more because it allowed you to take control of the different armies to take on the Black Hole Army. Overall though, I wish the sequel showed more evolved gameplay mechanics. I haven't really tried the multiplayer. Sometime the game can feel like a grind or a slog but that is rare. This is my favorite strategy franchise and I hope we will get a new original entry soon. I will likely go back and play the DS game Days of Ruin if I can track down a copy. I still don't forgive Nintendo for delaying this game a year because Russia invaded Ukraine. That being said Slava Ukraini! Fuck Putin!

Score: 8/10

Actively playing: Balatro, Car X Street, Robocop Rouge City: UF

Feels good to see that Platinuming rate but I don't wanna get to over zealous. Robocop DLC is my next game and it's an easy plat so I need something to finish in between so I don't go for platinum streaks and wreck my noggin with it. Alas, it does feel good to see three in a row.

Since we're at the mid-point of the year, here's everything I've complete so far this year.

Games I've completed for the first time

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
Kena: Bridge of Spirits
Resident Evil 7
Halo: Campaign Evolved

Games I've replayed

Halo CE (multiple times)
Halo 2
Halo 3
Mega Man 1-6 (certain entries multiple times)
Gears of War 4

I know it isn't much, but I've been slowly working through my backlog. The only new game I've bought this year is Star Fox, which I just picked up yesterday. Might pick up RE8 from the store soon since it's like $20 now. Money's been tight. And when I'm between games I've finished for the first time, I have a habit of going back to certain "comfort games."
