Decided I needed to shank some orks to dug out my copy of Shadow of War that I bought ages ago but never played.

Shanking orks done!

I can see why people didn't like this as much as the first, guess the first was a new novel thing but some of the stuff in this was quite honestly just frustrating. I really liked the idea of stalking prey, finding weaknesses, recruiting them to your army or killing them for rewards and then getting to the point of attacking a fort, taking out the generals one by one.

But when it came to defending said forts? Just frustrating and it's what made me stop playing (after I'd finished the story). I was like level 40 something by the end but my orks in that area were level 15-18, attacking force was 40+. "Leveling up" my orks via what I presume is WBs monetisation was just a pain, so defending a fort, lost a fort, then defended and lost again and dipped. Uninstalled.

Shanking orks was more fun.

Hmm, pie.

Been playing FF16 and Balatro since Shadow of War, FF16 is such a slog, just as things get going, you are asked to do basically errands. FFs used to be all story, like 9 spent 25 hours just following a narrative and any "side stuff" was minor or optional, now it's more than 50% of the game. I've died twice, once because I was stupid and once because of an optional boss. No idea where I am in the story but it's just go to next kaiju fight, which are mostly cutscenes. Looks good but not sure if I'll even finish.

Yet, meanwhile, got Black Ops 1 on PS5, old school CoD with my brother. Fun times.

Played the story, first time I finished it, mainly for trophies but didn't do it on hard, just playing. No idea what happened really.

Beat Juttonslayer: Hoards of Hel at 10 hours. 7/10. Good game. Could have been great had they reduced the graphics, added more enemies, XP gains and had higher level caps among a few other things but it's unique feeling in the genre and very enjoyable. Not enough to go Platinuming it but enough to return for a few higher difficulty runs.
