Finished super Mario 3D World this morning, I found it to be one of the weaker Mario’s.

I will continue my GTA V Playthrough next. I might switch to Halo Remake first due to Gamepass ending sometime in September. At the current prices I don’t want to subscribe again for now.

Just Finished: Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 (PS5)

I have a soft spot for Black Ops III because it was the first online co-op game I played through with my current gaming buddy back at the start of the Covid pandemic. Since then we have played through dozens of online games together. We also regularly play COD multiplayer together. Strangely however, after BO III the COD games dropped co-op campaigns for a long time. Black Ops 7 features an online co-op campaign as one of its main selling point. While I am glad the feature has finally returned, this game's story and campaign were rough and quite a slog to get through. This series has gone completely off the rails in terms of storyline. The fantasy and hallucination aspects of the story give the developers free reign to do whatever they want, and the game feels absurd when you are shooting hordes of skeletons and giant monsters in what was once a realistic shooter franchise. The campaign level design is not tight. The open world elements make navigation a slog. The enemies respawn way too much. A lot of the story seems to take place in futuristic Japan purely for aesthetic reasons. While I like the Japanese aesthetics, they also make the game a confusing visual jumble. I hope they keep co-op campaigns going forward but this one was a mess. The game is packed full of content and takes up an absurd amount of hard drive space. The competitive multiplayer is a mixed bag. They keep swapping in and out game modes seemingly just because they feel like it. It can be annoying though I also welcome some of the experimentation the devs have implemented. For instance there was a free running game mode added a while back. While it was frustratingly difficult it was also a nice change of pace. The zombie mode is overstuffed as usual. The post-campaing open world mode reminds me of Helldivers in its mission/exfil structure. A tighter more cohesive package would serve this game well. It can be fun in spurts but overall its a mess.

Score: 6/10

Alan Wake, Last Campfire, Balatro, Space Marine 2, Hades 2, Little to the Left. Bookwalker. HZD, Shadow of War. Black Ops!!, FF16

Just playing online games, PvE mainly, Space Marine 2 and HD2 but paused to play a small puzzel game, The Pedestrian.

Fun little game, with come clever thinking behind it all. Got stuck once because I didn't realise on a mechanic more than puzzles being too hard and the ending section was real clever. Not sure I could work out the plot though.
