When I posted it was before all the data for Europe and Worldwide came in. I got lucky that Europe was posted just barely after my post so I updated it. But once I went to work I couldn’t update my post when Worldwide data went live.

No. The rest of the world region as added way back, with the Japan data. It is not added with Europe or Worldwide. So we had rest of the world data since at least 2 weeks now (when the top page was updated with the Japan December data).

Also Worldwide data is there once every of the three main regions is there - EU, US and Japan, since it's combination of the three and of course the rest of the world data, but that one is not shown. So even in the period where Worldwide numbers are TBA, they are right there, you just need to open the hardware by date tool and see them. They are just not shown on the top page, that's all. It's not some additional data we are waiting for.

Ok. I didn’t know. I’m not well versed in vgchartz. Thanks.

Nintendo has Shipped a minimum of 151.14M Switch units according to the sold numbers from Oct-Dec and the shipped from Sept 30, 2024 report. Very impressive.

How do you get to this number? My personal guess is something 150- 152 million, but no less. But in the past the Switch beat my expectations many times so i won't exclude anything... but below 150 million is litterallly imposslble at this point, at least if those numbers for december, especially these crazy european numbers are true...

Nintendo released their shipment number from the period ending on Sept 30, 2024. That being 146.04M. Personally I mark the rest of the digits as zeroes (it may not be correct but it makes things simpler, plus there is no confirmation of what those digits are). So in long form I have it as 146,040,000 units.

October worldwide sold 694,857 units.

November worldwide sold 1,715,636 units.

December worldwide sold 2,689,185 units.

Shipped ≠ sold, but Nintendo does need to have supply available. So for every one sold there should be at a minimum of one shipped.

I add up the tally and I get 151,139,678. This is the minimum amount of Switch units Nintendo will have shipped according to vgchartz numbers.

the worst overestimation I noticed was Q4 of FY’24 (ending March 31, 2024), being >600k. Last December vgchartz underestimated by 1.18M, which is why I state it will be a minimum shipped number, it could actually be more.

Based on the information available we should see Nintendo’s report have something near 151.14M Switch units Shipped. Which means we should be around 148.80M Switch units Sold.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 160 million (was 120 million, then 140 million, then 150 million)

PS5: 130 million (was 124 million)

Xbox Series X/S: 54 million (was 60 million, then 57 million)

Ok i recalculated. Should be 5,1 million for Q3 (i had 4,7). My bad. So 151 million could really be possible but i prefere to be carefull and go with 150 million minimum. 150- 152 million should be a save bet.

Wait, so Switch sold 5.3 million between Oct 2023 to December 2023 and 5.1 million this (2024) Q3?

Edit: Nevermind, the 5.3 million for Q3 2023 was just November 2023 and December 2023. What is the Q3 2023 total? Switch shipped 6.9 million. That might give us a better idea of what to expect this Q3 shipments to be.
