Ocarina of Time and Breath of the Wild had massive sweeps in GOTY when they came out.
Tears of the Kingdom is an asset-reusing sequel which slightly hurts its chances, but I still think it will take it more likely than not.

Switch: 151 million (was 73, then 96, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million)

PS5: 115 million (was 105 million) Xbox Series S/X: 57 million (was 60 million, then 67 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

My guess would be Divinity: Forgotten Realms...I mean Baldur's Gate 3.
It's 8/10 game, at the most, but game "journalists" love to salivate over it with all those perfect 10 scores, so it would be easy pick for GotY.

My guess is on Zelda's side, but Baldur's Gate 3 and Mario Wonder will probably be big contenders

I agree with this 100%. I think the only reason people are even considering BG3 is because it came to consoles; if it had stayed on PC, it probably would have suffered the same fate as Half Life: Alyx.

So yeah, I think ZToK will get the the most awards, followed by BG3 (maybe); but the one I'm most curious about is actually Starfield, so far its critical reception has been almost identical to that of Death Stranding back in 2019, being a "love it or hate it" kinda game. Now, DS went on to win the most awards that year, winning over games with a much higher score, but then again, Death Stranding's wasn't competing with Zelda, so.. I guess we'll see.

It's a close between totk and re4 remake. Haven't played bg3 though. Alan wake 2 is also another quality game yet to be released.

So, to make a recap at this point in time: the bet is clearly dominated by TOTK with BG3 as the only serious contender. Both have the most votes and the biggest bet amount. The voters though are similarly sure about this, the average bet amount is pretty similar ($355 for TOTK vs. $369 for BG3). Mostly everything else does not get any votes at all, even other which surprises me as I had to relegate a lot of good games to other because of lack of bet slots. The only games getting votes at all are Starfield and Final Fantasy 16. Interestingly FF16 has a pretty high bet amount with only two votes with $1500 (averages to $750, so about double the amount the leading games have).

Yeah, I have both RE4 and Alan Wake listed among the other category. Too few options, I had to move important games.
