1. Those figures are estimates from IDG.

2. Those estimates are sell-through figures and NOT units shipped as PS5 and Switch 2 figures you posted are units shipped and not sold.

3. Our estimates here have PS5 at 89.44M, Xbox Series at 34.17M and Switch 2 at 15.59M for a total of 139.2M as of January 3, 2025. Subtract 3 days to get to December 31, 2025 and that puts us at ~138.7M, which is well under a 1% difference with IDG estimates.

I changed the chart in the original post vs 37.5M of sales of the Wii+3DS in Japan (as well as in my global sales thread), and it looks like the Series has a pretty good shot of reaching 37.5M in the end or even slightly more. If the Series doesn't drop too much this year, it should reach it easily, by the end of next year. Let's not forget that it should get some boost from GTA 6 as well. I voted for 36-36.5M option a while ago, but looking at the chart now, I may change my vote to slightly higher option, next time, when I renew the poll.

I wonder if XBSXS will outsell NS1 (JP) LTD. I just realized how close the two may end up being. My bet is on NS1 JP being that it is already well over 36 million.

Yeah, I thought about that too. But Wii+3DS is more front loaded, and because the Series is also the same way, it was more appropriate.
