The Diofield Chronicle (Platinum)

Thanks for the write up of this, I did wonder how it was, it seemed to release with very little fanfair, which would be a shame if the game was great.

On topic, now idea where my list was but adding Horizon Forbidden West.

A great game and worth while sequel with what I think sadly had too much extra systems (they didn't need upgrades and so many extra weapons) and a more convoluted story it didn't need.

Hmm, pie.

Currently working on:
Live A Live (Switch)

Very JRPG-heavy so far this year.

Two more games to add:

Live A Live (NS) - Such a cool fucking game.

Metal Gear Solid (PSX) - I never did play this series when it came out, so I am going into this with no nostalgia goggles or anything. But overall a great game just held back slightly with controls that have not aged well (looking at you, sniper rifle and stinger).

Currently working on:

Resident Evil HD Remaster (PC)

For once I've played and finished a few games early in the year :
- It takes two
- Dirt 5
- Kena Bridge of spirit

I'm nearly done with Star Wars fallen order, and must complete Returnal too.

I can finally add :

- Bioshock Infinite and the two DLCs

- Rayman Legends (not all worlds but enough for me)

- Star Wars Fallen order, two years after i began to play it

- The last of us left behind

Now i don't know if i'm gonna begin marvel guardians of the galaxy or play the DLC of Ghost of Tshushima.

I managed to finish Marvel Guardians of the galaxy, stray and A way out. It has been a few years since i last finished at least 10 games.

Ride The Chariot || Games Complete ‘24 Edition

So far this year I've completed the following games for the first time:

Horizon Zero Dawn (Platinum earned)
Demon's Souls (New Game and New Game+)
TMNT: Shredder's Revenge
Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order
Mega Man 5

Haven't started anything else new yet.

With Demon's Souls, I stopped playing during New Game++ because I found out I need PS+ to get two trophies I need for the Platinum, but I don't play MP games on PlayStation and I'm not about to pay money just to platinum one game. In fact, Halo is the only thing I played the online multiplayer of, and I haven't touched it in a month.

Came here to update my list, but oops, I no longer have one.

Anyway, I beat Alien: Isolation today. It was pretty nuts. Not sure I have it in me to play another horror game, like, ever. Though I guess there's some DLC stuff, so maybe I'm still not completely done playing this...

Finished:

Tomb Raider (1996)
The Cowabunga Collection
Mystic Quest Legend

Currently playing:

Tomb Raider II (1997)

Yeah, sadly I don't have too much time to play games. =/

Official member of VGC's Nintendo family, approved by the one and only RolStoppable. I feel honored.

Been a while since I last updated my list, though still only one new game to add.

Finished:

  1. Luigi's Mansion 3 (Switch) 8 / 10
  2. Super Mario Odyssey (Switch) 9 / 10
  3. Valkyria Chronicles 4 (PS4) 9 / 10
  4. The Last of Us Part II (PS4) 9 / 10
  5. Horizon Zero Dawn (PS4) 9.5 / 10)
  6. Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age (PS4) 8 / 10
  7. Elden Ring (PS4) 9.5 / 10
  8. Ara Fell (PC) 7.5 / 10
  9. Lara Croft Go (PC) 7.5 / 10
  10. Hue (PC) 7 / 10
  11. Spiritfarer (PS4) 9 / 10
  12. Kena: The Bridge of Spirits (PS4) 8 / 10
  13. Abzû (PS4) 8 / 10
  14. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy (PS4) 9 / 10
  15. Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time (PS4) 7.5 / 10
  16. Code Vein (PS4) 8 / 10
  17. Final Fantasy XIII (PS3) 7.5 / 10
  18. Vagrant Story (PS1) 8 / 10
    • I bought Vagrant Story a while back, but only got around to playing it recently. Overall, a very good game that can just be a bit too obtuse for its own good. Figuring out all the nuances and details of the battle system took ages because the game doesn't explain much of it very well. I did eventually get a grasp on it, but it took me a while. The writing, on the other hand, is stellar, the translation from Japanese likely one of the best of its era.

Currently playing:

  1. Cadence of Hyrule

Just Finished: Escape Academy (PS5)

I don't play many puzzle games other the falling block kind like Tetris and Lumines. That's why Escape Academy was a nice change of pace. I played it at the suggestion of my friends and we played through the campaign locally and over the internet. I'm sure the game can be enjoyed alone as well, but there is something nice about talking to your partner to work out and solve puzzles and tasks together. It is a nice touch that the game allows you to view your partners POV in splitscreen. I have some experience with a real life escape room, which seem to be growing in popularity across the country, and I think this videogame is a worthy substitute and better bang for your buck. You get 13 inventive escape room scenarios stringed together with a story that takes place in a school that trains escape artists. This is definitely an indie game with a limited budget and it shows. The blocky graphics and art style are PS2 caliber, not a showcase for the power of my PS5 at all. The story is nothing special either but you can tell they really tried to craft something breezy, accessible, with a bit of intrigue. A lot of the puzzles come down to deciphering messages, finding keys for locks, and entering the right password or number combination. Some of the puzzle are clever and you will feel very satisfied after you solve them. Others are obtuse and not easy to figure out without a combination of luck and trial and error. There are some glitches and control issues as well. The game does offer hints to help if you get stuck but penalizes you for using them. The time limit for most levels range from 5 to 45 minutes. I enjoyed the game but don't think I'll be jumping back in for any DLC or potential sequels. If you will excuse me I will be going back to games where I shoot or jump on things.

Score: 7/10
