An educated guess. 2/3 of PS5 numbers. I'm assuming PS5 lifetime will be 10% higher than PS4 - around 130M, which brings me to 86M (80-89 bracket).

Simply put, more than 360, or in other words - best selling XB so far. I'd be shocked if it wasn't.

50-60mil like the XB1. Unless the core gaming sector grows, or perhaps the Bethesda purchase leads to more dual owners, everything points to PS5 dominating XB like the PS4 did, if not more.

Xbox Series tracks ahead of it's predecessors:

10 years greatest game event!

bets: [peak year] [+], [1], [2], [3], [4]

55 to 60 mil would be my guess.

Somewhere, in a thread far, far away, 88 million was guessed.

Don't remember what I voted for the first time (or if I even did) but I'll go with 70-80 million

I think I voted 40-50m before the release, but the first year has clearly shown that is bound to do better than Xbox One. Currently it sells almost double of what Xbox One did compared to the same weeks launch aligned. I'll go with 60-70m option, but I think 70-80m is a possibility too, but it will depend on the next few years if Microsoft will be able to maintain the same positive brand perception they have now and them being able to deliver the games.

Bonus question: Tales of Arise

The Xbox 360 actually didn't do that great during the first year. I think they wanted to sell 10 million before the PS3 launched and fell way short. I think it took until 2008 to reach that number. For a while, the Xbox One outpaced the 360 for years, too. The 360 just had longer legs and sales exploded when Kinect was released.

Not sure how the Series X will do in the long run but based on these numbers, I'm hopeful. My personal expectations--around 70 million when all is said and done. Lots of factors could effect this, though. The diminishing returns in graphics, the ability to play on PC, Game Pass streaming, etc. I want an Xbox but the truth is, we don't NEED one to play many of its best games. But that for Microsoft to figure out.

I think I picked 70-80 million and I'll stick with it. With the way it's selling now, I feel confident it will reach those numbers, if not exceed them.

To the last question, FH5. It's such an excellent game. Psychonauts 2 and Hades are my runner up.

Predicting lifetime sales is even more pointless now than it used to be. Without knowing when the generation is likely to end (never seems to be a possibility), and considering that XB in particular is moving in the direction of streaming (thereby intentionally reducing hardware sales), we're all just throwing bullshit numbers at the wall.

With that said, I voted 80-89.9 million. I just pulled that out of my ass.

My favorite game so far would have to be FH5. I'm hoping that is soon replaced by Halo Infinite.
