If you have used an alt epic account on Switch you'll have to disconnect that first, then connect your psn account to the Switch.

So if you actually want to cross-play you still need two accounts of course, set to a different profile. But it all works now, my son can use his battle pass on the Switch and with different accounts Switch and ps4 can play together.

Sony act as if this is a hard implementation to achieve since they already allow Cross Play with PC and Mobile devices and all of a sudden a game has to go through a Beta? Sounds like this is them backpedalling and acting as if its not as easy as flipping a switch yet Epic flipped the Switch twice with Fortnite on cross play between the systems.. how strange, doesn't seem that hard. Sony just need to give Epic permission and Sony doesn't want to because of corporate greed. This is some of the sadist PR iv seen in recent years and iv seen Xbox PR machine. What you re unable to grasp, there are things beyond the technical aspect that have to be settled.

Yea, thats "evil corporate greed". Epic wants crossplay, whatever it takes. To cement their position, cultivate and maximize the lifespan of their money making crap game. Not concerend about the downsides of crossplay - differences in hardware and input devices and the impact it has on fair play. Not to mention wider indirect implications.

Gamers want crossplay? A bunch of gullible kids drugged on sugar with no differentiated view on the matter obsessed with 21st consumerism want CP. The perfect clientel to suck dry.

Actually I think its rather simple and this is just a corporation trying to save face in my opinion. There may not be a Switch to pull however a little more simpler than a Switch.. they just have to allow Epic to turn it on.

I don't know the exact technical logic behind allowing Cross-Play, however based on the article I linked, it stats that Fortnight has allowed Cross-Play between XB1 and PS4 devices twice, by mistake.. How hard can it be since its been proven to be already working.

Sony come out saying this requires some kind of wizardry to implement.. when I don't believe it does. If Nintendo can allow Cross-Play on a System a lot difference to the PS4 and XB1 than both PS4 and XB1 that are almost identical to each other can apply this quite easy.

I also don't believe in Sony's Cross-Play Beta, I believe the Beta is nothing more than a cover up to make this sound like a hard thing to implement and to label out other games to allow it without going through some hard work with Beta's and implementations. Its all a big mess on something so simple.

So those that want to game with there family and friends on other devices are considered sugar drugged kids? Cross-Play is not a take over, it has no affect on anyone besides those who are locked out and excluded due to system preference. This is actually a good thing for consumers. The more options to play the better.

First: the crossplay issues are tackled already. Epic did the technical stuff. With inclusion of Xbox, Switch, PC and mobile the contractual stuff was also already solved. And for PS4 too, as it already had supported crossplay with PC and mobile. All the legal issues are as relevant for that as they are for console crossplay.

Secondly you decry the differences in play devices with crossplay. Do you realize Sony had all the time allowed crossplay with PC and mobile? So actually with the platfroms that are more different and allow for easy cheating and whatnot? Xbox and Switch as platforms are much more similar to PS4 than PC and mobile deveices. Both in input schemes and power.

And lastly, sure Epic does that for profit. They do better with crossplay. But your arrogance to shit on gamers that want to play with their friends on other platforms is much worse. Don't shit on other gamers, because you feel the company you're devoted to got slighted. Grow up. Sony is a company, They'll live, probably even after we all are dead.

PS4 crossplay got me back into fortnite. A few weeks ago I was basically done with the game but playing with my friends on xbox and ps4 has been super fun.
