Just so everyone can see past the PR. Sony's Answer "Now enabling cross-play isn’t just a flip of a switch and there you go. It’s a very multi-dimensional attribute or feature."

Well it doesn't seem that hard Mr Sony.

Where exactly does the website you linked contradict what Layden said.

So everyone has a more clear picture on what is really going on behind the scenes....

So we had to look at it from a technical point of view, we have to work with our partners from a business point of view, we have to make sure that if we enable this, do we have the right customer service support, do we have the right messaging out there, do we have all these different things that you have to get in line,' Layden said. 'It's rather ordinal - they have to go in a certain order to get them all set up.'

Sony's Quote:

"Now enabling cross-play isn’t just a flip of a switch and there you go. It’s a very multi-dimensional attribute or feature."

Quote from Article:

"Oops, Fortnite has done it again. Back in September, Xbox One/PS4 crossplay was, ever so briefly, made available to Fortnite fans. Developer Epic Games quickly shut it down, blaming a simple configuration error, but, nevertheless, eyebrows were raised. Epic has been a strong supporter of crossplay"

Also from Epic:

“Gamers want crossplay, and we at Epic are committed to doing whatever it takes to make that happen. Players deserve it.”

Me:

Sony act as if this is a hard implementation to achieve since they already allow Cross Play with PC and Mobile devices and all of a sudden a game has to go through a Beta? Sounds like this is them backpedalling and acting as if its not as easy as flipping a switch yet Epic flipped the Switch twice with Fortnite on cross play between the systems.. how strange, doesn't seem that hard. Sony just need to give Epic permission and Sony doesn't want to because of corporate greed. This is some of the sadist PR iv seen in recent years and iv seen Xbox PR machine. That's saying something.
