If you have used an alt epic account on Switch you'll have to disconnect that first, then connect your psn account to the Switch.

Log in on the epic Fortnite site with your email / nintendo ID / psn ID to disconnect and connect accounts.

So if you actually want to cross-play you still need two accounts of course, set to a different profile. But it all works now, my son can use his battle pass on the Switch and with different accounts Switch and ps4 can play together.
