Forums - Nintendo - I really liked the Switch presentation.

I liked it only because of Zelda, Xenoblade and 3D Mario.

The Good:

- New 3D Mario! More open world style, even though I didn't love Sunshine, I do love Mario 64, and it was probably time to revisit that style.

- While the graphical leap isn't huge, at least it's fairly noticeable. Zelda: BoTW looks noticably better on the Switch. It's not a huge deal, but it looks cleaner, sharper, and more detailed. Mario Odyessy looked better than 3D World. Mario Kart 8 runs at a full 1080p, hey Wii wasn't able to run Resident Evil 4 or anything from GameCube at 720p, so at least there is some OK jump here.

- The Switch LCD doesn't look like something from your grandma's 2002 portable DVD player from Wal-Mart. It actually looks like a nice display, even if its only 720p.

- ARMS looks cool, a new Nintendo IP, glad they are continuing to invest in new ideas.

- March 3 is a bit sooner than I was expecting.

- Even though I don't buy for a second that this is coming out this year, Xenoblade 2.

- Splatoon 2 for summer aw yes.

The Bad:

- The price for everything is too high. Think they might struggle a bit at that price post launch honeymoon.

- Third party support as of right now looks fairly ... abysmal. Worse than Wii U at the same stage in its pre-release I would have to say and quite easily at that. Unless you love non-Final Fantasy JRPGs, which is a pretty small niche of people, there are more holes in the library than Swiss Cheese.

- The presentation as a whole was kinda ... poor, Iwata's presence was missed and Nintendo hasn't done a stage show in a long time, and it showed in a bad way. Show was dull and slow.

- Launch lineup beyond Zelda is horribad.

- 1,2 Switch was embarrassing.

- Battery life of 3 hours or so isn't great.

- The graphics are maybe not quite as good as maybe some people would have liked. Better than Wii U but not by a ton.

I think that what they showed is really great (except it's a bit pricey, specially in Europe, and paid online I don't mindshare since I'm won't use), but the way they showed it was bad.

Mario and Zelda were the only games that truly looked great. I'm still unsure what the No More Heroes game actually is. It sounded like Suda51 is working with indies and letting them use Travis in their games...

I completely agree. Im actually getting sick off Generic over saturated FPS and Action adventure games. I used to love Assassins Creed, MGS etc but I have the latest version sat unplayed along with Uncharted 4 and stuff. Battlefield one is still fun online but yeah kinda feeling like I'm done with Ps4 amd xbox one

It was a horrible show.

I liked it a lot.

I also liked it mostly.

I was surprised a bit at the joycons. It is good they bring back everything the Wiimote could do and add some more stuff. Now it needs proper games to utilize them.

The other thing were the games. I'm hyped for Fire Emblem Warriors, I like Dragon Quest, Arms, Splatoon2, Project Octopants (or whatever) and Shin Megami Tensei. Western Third party support was as expected laughable. Really Nintendo, why even give EA space on the stage. The japanese support on the other hand seems solid. As I'm recently more into japanese games, this is fine with me.

The only downer was the price.

Guys ARMS will have controller support (Pro), how can anyone be negative.

But yeah the show itself was not of quality, and they did not mention or hint at pro controller support for ARMS.

It was OK, little thin with games and no real big surprise, evrething else was good.
