we are talking about a game that released to 0 install base. even if the Wii U released to conicide with the day blops2 dropped it would have made little difference because people werent going to buy a whole new console to play a game for a system they already owned.

Many wouldn't have, but there would be some gamers who wanted a Wii U but also wanted to buy COD right away to keep up with all their COD-playing friends.

no, they would buy the game on the systems their friends have to play COD if they wanted to keep up, that system isnt Wii U

Most would, not all. BO2 sold 11 million week 1, it's just not realistic to say that there's no overlap with the 400,000 who bought a Wii week one.

the overlap is very small. BO2 sold 11 million first week. BO2 hasnt even sold 250000 copies to DATE. if that is not small overlap i dont know what is.

Missing out on such a big opening is significant. The current overlap is small becaue there WAS in fact no overlap, the game was late.

id agree with that, had it not been on WIi U a system that had NO install base. It would not have mattered if it came out the same time as the others, becaue most people would have bought it on those systems anyway.

Of course it would have mattered. It wouldn't have changed 200k sales into 10 million, but it definitely would have made a difference with a game as big one week one as COD if Wii U had been available at the same time.

Good because I don't really want to have arguments or deep discussions on this site.  It is either I am right or you are wrong.  Call me immature because I don't give a fuck.  I gave up because your views won't change and mine won't change either.  Perhaps you are the better man but I really don't give a shit.  I don't let others influence me and one more time... Fuck dual analog.  Keyboard + mouse or wiimote + nunchuck shits all over dual analog.  If there is one thing to get from me is that I don't bend my ass over.  You have your own thoughts for how games progressed and I have my own.  Leave it at that.

I was perfectly willing to let you go on your way. You're the one who decided to come back and justify yourself after the fact. Trust me, I would have understood if you hadn't replied back. In fact, if I understand you correctly, you're pretty much agreeing with my last post.

If you are wanting to be intransigent, I have no problem with that. Seriously, there are things I'm not open to discussing myself. But if that's the case, please don't respond to me in a manner that indicates you want a productive discussion. That's all I ask.

I believe in honesty, civility, generosity, practicality, and impartiality.

What has been added to third person shooters or any shooter that isn't FPS?  QTE... Fuck QTE.  Cover system?  Wowzers!  Awesome!

Since the 1990's? In the Shooter genre, off the top of my head...

Stable online play.

Intuitive custom-map design.

Two-stick controls.

Motion controls.

If you count games like Portal, virtually the entire sub-genre it has created.

RPG elements.

Regenerating health.

Realism (weapon limits, etc)

Various mechanical changes

Various business model changes

Those being the elements that have seen a degree of broad acceptance during that time period. This says nothing about the individual games or franchises that embrace more exotic elements, like Dead Space, Red Faction, Grand Theft Auto, and whatever else I can't think of off the top of my head.

Add to that:

Vehicular combat (Halo, Battlefield)
co-op (Halo)
story (Half-Life)
team orders (Rainbow Six)
difficulty settings (yeah some genres still don't have them)

Hasn't this happened every year since 2010 though? It seems like Wii/Wii U isn't getting the year's COD game, nothing is revealed or shown at E3, its revealed in an interview around September, and kept under tight wraps until release?

I believe it will release on the PS4XBONE first.. then 6 months to a year later on the wiiU.. business as usual guys.. business as usual...

I thought nintendo magazine was cancelled months ago so this whole story is a lie!

I don't see this happening with COD because 6 months later COD 11: Black Ops 3 will be announced. It will most likely be November or never. I know what you were implying though with late ports coming to Wii U.

Honestly if they wrote about it in their magazine I think it would come to Wii U, the main reason Blops 2 sold so bad on Wii U is because they released it on there late and everyone already had the game.

yeah no, the game came out what a whole month after the other versions? wow, thats so late. Im sure all those people who were buying it on PS360/PC couldnt wait to buy it for their brand new WIi Us. Please.

For a game so multiplayer heavy, this is the fact. I'm not sure if it came out one month after, but if that's what you said let's go with that. In one month a large percentage of the buyers have already bought the game, and since the userbase is so large, and your friends who plays the game are on PS3 or 360 you would be less inclined to buy the game on Wii U.

Or atleast I would.

You just don't get it.

CoD during opening week would have pushed hardware, because people want the game, and it is the most feature-rich version. Also, the people who bought Wii U for other games (the enthusiasts, who got Wii U day one) would probably have bought it for their new exciting system.

Either way, it would have done better had it not been late. And had it had a head start, it would have done phenomenally well. I am speaking in terms of attach rate, of course.

I LOVE ICELAND!
