Honestly if they wrote about it in their magazine I think it would come to Wii U, the main reason Blops 2 sold so bad on Wii U is because they released it on there late and everyone already had the game.

yeah no, the game came out what a whole month after the other versions? wow, thats so late. Im sure all those people who were buying it on PS360/PC couldnt wait to buy it for their brand new WIi Us. Please.

The reason why it sold so bad was because it came out on a new system with low install base.  Also, Nintendo systems haven't sold that many FPS since Goldeneye 007 and Perfect Dark.  FPS are still a main draw on the other systems but Nintendo gamers aren't that interested in FPS for the most part.  Sure it is a decent genre but the genre hasn't really added much since the late 90s.  Hell, I was doing shit on Tribes 1 (PC) that people jizz over on home consoles systems (vehicles, bases, tons of players per game, etc).  FPS genre has been pretty much stagnant in innovation for the past 15 years.  What else has FPS added in the past years?  Total destructive combat?  Well, Duke Nukem 3D had limited destructive walls...

It's been said before, but describing a genre by the point of view is a very rough and unnatural classification. "Shooter" or some subgenre of it is fine, but FPS is pretty well worthless as a classification, especially when there has been a fair amount of innovation in non-FPS shooters.

What has been added to third person shooters or any shooter that isn't FPS?  QTE... Fuck QTE.  Cover system?  Wowzers!  Awesome!  Lets face it that any type of shooting game is pretty much a dead end.  Little innovation has been made in the entire genre since the beginning.  Oops... I forgot about bullet time or whatever the fuck for Max Payne.  Okay, I admit that was kind of cool when I was first exposed to it but it got old quick.

For a game like COD, a month is a long time. We're talking about a brand that does what, 7 million day one?

no it isnt, not when the game is in the top seller list ALL year long, until its sequel comes out. I dont think ive ever seen the WIi U version up their dont remember the last time ive seen a Wii verison up there as well. Hell the Vita one is doing better and that isnt even a real COD game. (real as in actually done by an Activision team) Its at 190000 right now, what would it have done had it come out a month earlier?

so Ninty gamers arent really into FPSs like that(Ninty only gamers) ok, that makes more sense than the month delay nonsense, but not quite sure what the rest of what you are saying has to do with COD on Wii U having the sales it has.

I'm just saying FPS aren't that good of a genre.  Perhaps Nintendo gamers expect something fun to play than some dull FPS.

Didn't say it would sell as well as the other versions, but it's sales were obviously impacted by not being there day 1 if you look at just how many sales COD makes day 1.

Since the 1990's? In the Shooter genre, off the top of my head...

Stable online play.

Intuitive custom-map design.

Two-stick controls.

Motion controls.

If you count games like Portal, virtually the entire sub-genre it has created.

RPG elements.

Regenerating health.

Realism (weapon limits, etc)

Various mechanical changes

Various business model changes

Those being the elements that have seen a degree of broad acceptance during that time period. This says nothing about the individual games or franchises that embrace more exotic elements, like Dead Space, Red Faction, Grand Theft Auto, and whatever else I can't think of off the top of my head.

ELITISM ALERT!

Drop the pretension and put your hands behind your back!

Seriously, though, shrugging off one of the most popular genres in gaming because Nintendo gamers are apparently smarter and just have better taste than people who enjoy those games is terribly immature.

we are talking about a game that released to 0 install base. even if the Wii U released to conicide with the day blops2 dropped it would have made little difference because people werent going to buy a whole new console to play a game for a system they already owned.
