so Ninty gamers arent really into FPSs like that(Ninty only gamers) ok, that makes more sense than the month delay nonsense, but not quite sure what the rest of what you are saying has to do with COD on Wii U having the sales it has.

I'm just saying FPS aren't that good of a genre.  Perhaps Nintendo gamers expect something fun to play than some dull FPS.

ELITISM ALERT!

Drop the pretension and put your hands behind your back!

Seriously, though, shrugging off one of the most popular genres in gaming because Nintendo gamers are apparently smarter and just have better taste than people who enjoy those games is terribly immature.

it not elitism its more "well those games dont come out for my system, but, but i dont like them anyway so their." he does it alot, i wouldnt worry about it.

It struck me as immature, so I pointed it out. The elitism thing was more of a joke, though if the shoe fits...

we are talking about a game that released to 0 install base. even if the Wii U released to conicide with the day blops2 dropped it would have made little difference because people werent going to buy a whole new console to play a game for a system they already owned.

Many wouldn't have, but there would be some gamers who wanted a Wii U but also wanted to buy COD right away to keep up with all their COD-playing friends.

I have a PC and when else did I ever do this?  Is this payback from me accusing of always moving the goal posts in an argument?  I've been gaming since Atari 2600 days.  I've also gamed on PC when it was the 286/386 days (DOS days).  If I want to play a damn game that isn't on Nintendo system then I'll get it on the PC if it isn't console exclusive.

Sorry perhaps I've been gaming longer than you have?  I don't mean to come out as elite and I will never state the case.  Most of the things you listed as innovation are non factors or possibly made the genre worse.  The only thing I agree with your list is the motion controls (mainly the pointer) for FPS.  Dual analog is nothing to be proud of for FPS.  Might as well list auto aim.  I've played FPS from the start and I haven't seen much change.  Although I will say that there are plenty of other genres that haven't seen that much innovation.  Main one would be platformers.  I view platformers as more fun than shooters though.  Anyways, it is time I leave this thread.  Nothing good will come of this.

no, they would buy the game on the systems their friends have to play COD if they wanted to keep up, that system isnt Wii U

Most would, not all. BO2 sold 11 million week 1, it's just not realistic to say that there's no overlap with the 400,000 who bought a Wii week one.

With respect, I think you'd be hard-pressed to justify  the "non-factor" points if you addressed them. Dual-analog is far and above the most-used control interface for first-person shooters, and regenerating health has changed the entire dynamic of online matches. RPG elements are very much pervasive, and entire series of games have been built around those elements. There's also the specific examples, which you never addressed.

And just because you seem to view these changes with contempt does not mean the genre hasn't changed significantly...which is precisely what you argued.

As far as the rest goes, if you feel the need to address 10% of my argument and then storm off because "nothing good will come of this," when the most antagonistic thing I have yet done is call you immature for making blanket statements of superiority about certain demographics, then perhaps that is for the best.

For future reference, however, the more mature thing to do would have been to just agree to disagree and stop talking, rather than to half-form an argument and just give up. It presents a lack of respect to your peers and a lack of interest in the discussion you inserted yourself into. In short, it disinclines people to discuss anything of substance with you.

the overlap is very small. BO2 sold 11 million first week. BO2 hasnt even sold 250000 copies to DATE. if that is not small overlap i dont know what is.

Missing out on such a big opening is significant. The current overlap is small becaue there WAS in fact no overlap, the game was late.

Good because I don't really want to have arguments or deep discussions on this site.  It is either I am right or you are wrong.  Call me immature because I don't give a fuck.  I gave up because your views won't change and mine won't change either.  Perhaps you are the better man but I really don't give a shit.  I don't let others influence me and one more time... Fuck dual analog.  Keyboard + mouse or wiimote + nunchuck shits all over dual analog.  If there is one thing to get from me is that I don't bend my ass over.  You have your own thoughts for how games progressed and I have my own.  Leave it at that.
