Nonesense! Most people who play games dont give two fucks about fps as long as its playable.

Exactly. The average person who plays game doesn't know or even notice what fps is. Only people on gaming related websites care.

You don't necessarily have to know to feel or see a difference though.
Sure if you don't have a direct comparison it might be harder for some to notice, but it's still there. Just think about the Hobbit movies that were released with 48FPS in cinemas instead of 24FPS. Everyone immediately noticed that, even my girlfriend who never plays video games, but watches a lot of (24FPS) movies.

So much for third party support.

What are you talking about, regardless 30FPS, its seems that's quite good port.

Are there any screenshot comparisons to the other versions?

We dont have direct footage just offscreen footage of portable mode, so comparisons would be useless.

If Destiny 2 can attract so many players even when it is 30fps, this game should be no difference if it really runs at 30fps locked.

You really expected this to be 60fps?

Not really, but I hoped Bethesda would at least try to work around the framerate issue. The moment people see the Switch version has half the FPS they're gonna throw it in the dumpster.

So it seems like the digital foundry video was kinda true. Sometime soon it could get at 540p and 30 fps. That seems to be fine to a 6.2-7" inches tablet, but what if I want to connect it to a 55" or bigger size tv?

I know I know it's portable, but I heard many people say they will buy this version over the PS4 (1080p 60 fps)

Destiny 2 is a new game and the definitive version (PC) is not even out yet. Doom is a 1+ year old game. Maybe most people who bought Switch already played it on PS4/XONE consoles or PC. So there is much more enthusiasm to play a new game on 30FPS than an old game.

It's a fair compromise on both fronts. 30 fps is still very playable, having a PS4/XB1 tier game to play portably is a very impressive feat.

Or perhaps most people in real life aren't pompous, annoying pricks who wail their dick around whenever anything isn't a rock solid 60 fps.

But maybe I'm wrong and the casuals actually do study framerate on their free time

Disappointing, but not particularly surprising. There's a big jump between a Switch (even docked) and a PS4/X1, and dropping to 30fps is an efficient way of shortening that gap. We can see from the teasers that they've already been fairly aggressive in cutting the resolution and in-game assets too, so 60fps likley wasn't an option without compromising the visuals to the point people on the internet would just mock it. At 30fps it at least still looks fine.

That probably is a very fair assesment but personally for multiplayer I think 60fps is pretty critical, there is something about horror fps games where you really need the game to feel fluid to get the full effect in my opinion. I would have prefered a drop in detail and resolution to achieve 60fps but I might be in the minority with that. 16GB cartridge is about a third of the initial install size on ps4/xbone of 50GB although personally I'm used to such games inflating in time with patches or updates. So with 9GB of space required for multiplayer its pretty much half the size. You can play Doom 2016 on windows tablets, I think I've seen it running on a razor edge and more recent low end tablets but they were also limited to about 30 fps at best. It probably won't be long before low end windows tablets can run it a bit more comfortably. I've a feeling my linx vision would likely run it at 15 fps unless I heavily modded it with lower quality assets. It does play Doom 2016 beautifully when streamed but of course that also destroys the 60 fps fluidity.
