As a child, I felt like The Legend of Zelda: A Link to to Past was a mediocre title.

The reason is that I came straight from Zelda II, which I absolutely loved, and what I loved most were the duels with the Ironknuckles. And then in the next Zelda, the Knights are pushovers who gets defeated in 1-2 hits from the sword...

It really took me over 10 years to play enough of it to change my mind.

I actually missed this one as a kid and didn't get around to playing it til the Wii days. Still enjoyed it, but part of me wished I'd experienced it at the time to really appreciate it properly.

I have a similar case with Mario Kart 64. I only experienced the title after it got released on the Wii virtual console, and seriously wonder to this day what the fuss is about this game. For me it's very clearly the weakest Mario Kart I played (missed out on super circuit and 7, but played all the other titles).

Speaking of which, my favourite Mario Kart is 8, but rank number 2 might be shocking for some, as that's actually double dash. This is in part because only Double Dash did Baby Park correctly.

You see, in Double Dash, the items can go right through the middle of the track that divides both lanes, but doesn't in any of it's remakes. As such, the true chaos of the track never comes to fruition on any of the remakes.

Around the Network

I wasn't sure about Zelda in general. But when I tried the original Zelda from 1986 I wanted to play more if them.

Persona 5. I started and stopped three times before i managed to put the time in, and loved it

Yeah I also didn't play Mario Kart 64 until several gens later and as such felt like "that's it?" Not so much in terms of graphics, that part is fine, but the rubber banding was insane and made races feel contrived.
