Forums - Gaming - Things gamers don't complain about that you dislike

I figured screw it let's do the opposite thread as well to what Leynos made. What are some things most players seem okay with that bother you in games?

One that comes to mind for me is Dynamic Difficulty Adjustment, I generally don't like the game choosing how hard it should be rather than letting me do it. In RE Requiem (goated game) Standard (classic) can become easier than Standard (modern) if you do poorly on one and well on the other which sort of ruins the point of being able to choose between them.

Another one is having a bunch of weapons that start equally strong and require upgrades to become good like in Souls because the problem is disincentives you to try out new weapons when upgrade materials are limited + your starting weapon might actually be the best in the game. I've beaten two FromSoft game where I never changed weapons once, not as a challenge but just because it seemed most efficient.

I honestly can’t think of anything gamers don’t complain about lol.

Edit: Oh wait, I did just come up with one— cozy/easy platformers. Kirby is a franchise that sways from being unreasonably easy to being among the most challenging platforming I have ever encountered. That said, when it’s too easy, I really just don’t see the point in playing. Is not the purpose of a platformers to refine your platforming skills? To become more informed and comfortable with all the movement options at your disposal? It’s just a simple “Jump over this harmless enemy.” for ten hours straight, I’d rather just turn the game off and go to something like Mario Sunshine.

My head hurts.

GTA are the most highly produced but mediocre and dated gameplay and most overrated franchise of anything that exists in gaming.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

Advertising games when they are early in their development cycle.

An announcement I can understand just so people have an idea what’s going on, but trailers and ads should not be released until the game is in a state of bug fixes, quality of live improvements and polish/finishing touches.

Premature ads get people hyped, but if a game is a long ways off, there’s nothing to do with that energy.

The inherent motion blur from anti aliasing/ post processing effects. Where every movement or swing of a weapon results is a quick blur. Like what's the point of playing a game if you can't see all the glory in the details, as it's happening in realtime..

Today i installed dead island 2, and then had to uninstall after 10 minutes..

Realistic running and turning animations in third person games. Especially action/adventure games. Over the last... 14-15 years, the aim for realistic graphics also affected animations and controls. The result? This utterly annoying, slow and clunky animations for actions like turning and running. I think I've commented on this before, but I'll just say it again. Characters nowadays control like they have balls of iron and they struggle to move.

It's very frustrating to me, to the point where I just can't get into many games that are generally conisdered masterpieces or at least great. I want my character to feel snappy and fluid. I don't care that people don't turn instantly in real life. I'm not in real life, Jesus Christ xD

And nobody seems to care about this. Whenever I bring this up, people completely ignore my comment. I guess it's just a "me" problem...

Nah, it's not just you; GTA5 and Red Dead 2 were notable offenders here where it felt like your input was giving the character suggestions about where to go instead of actually moving them.

People complain about it, but not enough.

Early Access to games for buying the more expensive version is a predatory bs practice. Publishers have invented a way to get people to spend more that requires absolutely zero effort or work on their part. It's fake invented value weaponising fomo.
