I would be sort of curious to play it just to form an opinion on it for my own, but I can't in good conscience support it for full price or anything near that, and I'd rather spend that money elsewhere. Maybe I'll get a used physical copy if those don't end up super rare.

Of course day one on PS5.

If they confirm physical disc will be released: Day 1 of disc release

No disc: Will wait to play it when PS7 comes out when its dirt cheap.

I'm sorry to be a party pooper to those waiting for a real physical release, but The Hollywood Reporter (of all sites) claims that there's none of that:

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/business-news/grand-theft-auto-vi-digital-only-no-disc-rip-physical-media-1236629695/

On Wednesday, the Red Dead Redemption and Bully publisher revealed that Grand Theft Auto VI, the most-anticipated video game in, well, probably ever, will only be available as a digital download. In addition to the entirely digital delivery option, the Take-Two Interactive-owned imprint did advertise a coming “physical version” of GTA VI, but that was just a convenient use of language. The “physical version” of Grand Theft Auto VI will merely be a download code packed in a physical video game case. It is something of a loophole to attract collectors — and satisfy antitrust concerns — but not what the words mean to everybody else.

Please excuse my bad English.

My kid says it's cheap for what you get, he wants it day one. He's right, I paid $130 for FS2024 (premium deluxe edition) so I can't fault him.

R* knows how to build great environments to explore, even without the game play it will be fun just to walk/cycle/drive/bus/fly/boat around. It's the Titanic of video games, whether the story is good or not, the production values are off the charts. I spend most my time in GTA5 and RDR2 just exploring the maps, stumbling on emergent gameplay and stories embedded in the environment. Also there's nothing else on my radar for upcoming sandbox games. Dunno if the satire will hold up though since reality has far exceeded anything GTA has caricaturized.

Hopefully GTA VI will go hard on Ron DeSantis and Mar-a-Lago.

Would R* be brave enough to have you abduct kids to deliver to Mar-a-Lago... Aligator Alcatraz could be in there, finally closed just a couple days ago.

Of course it's all developments from 2025, GTA 6 has been in production since 2020. So more likely they're going after Biden and the previous Trump term. Hence I think it will be rather tame / out dated considering how crazy things have gotten in the US in the last year.

I’ll buy this game on one condition only: it has to be at a fair price and, of course, on disc.

DeSantis has been in office as Florida governor since 2018. I've personally found R*'s satire to be rather milquetoast in any case.

I personally think R* should have set GTA VI in Texas. The jokes practically write themselves there.

Given it was made in the early 2020s and late 2010s it'll probably be very politically correct in the preachiest and most tokenistic way imaginable.
