I'll just give my regards to a massive franchise that finally found its online fandom.

Oh it found it a long time ago.

Honestly don't know how this makes so much money.
Nobody I know ever talks about those movies.

Avatar is perplexing to me as well. I've only seen the first one but I just found it extremely average with cutting edge CGI.

But it's massive.

Odd and yet expected at the same time. I will never understand the Avatar phenomenon, ive seen all 3 and none are particularly memorable or great.

Their appeal is basically that they are pure popcorn escapism; beautiful visuals, over the top action, a simple straightforward story, just check your brain at the door and spend 3 hours or so in another world where you can forget all about the complexities and problems of the real world.

3 hours sounds like a long time. Why does it have to be 3 hours

Total Championships: Nintendo - 4, Sony - 2, Atari - 1, Microsoft - 0, Sega - 0

Yea,i also dont get it. Avatar movies are just extremely average, at best, when it comes to story and characters. I always saw these movies as Tech demos for what CGI can do. To me its just sad that we have crap movies like Endgame and Avatar movies with amazing CGI over movies like Titanic as movies with highest earning.

To me, 3 hours isn't that long. When I watched The Way of Water and Fire & Ash, they were so immersive that they didn't feel that long to me.

Saw some TVs showcasing the first one in the mall back in the day and it looked good on those, then watched some parts of it (first movie) on my TV one random day it was airing and it was kinda boring to be honest, did not even think about finishing it.

Back before the pandemic I used to go to the movie teather once a week, it got to the point I would watch random movies I never heard about because I was there and was going to watch something anyway.

If one of these was Avatar airing during that time I think I still would not pick it and would pick a random movie instead, it has literally no pull IMO.

Btw that's how I watched Parasite, I saw it there and even as I really don't like horror movies, they are usually laughably bad, and the movie poster and name really had me thinking it would be that, gladly picked it that day by sheer curiosity of why there was a korean horroe movie (lol) available on a brazillian movie theater. Great movie.

2 billion is a lock. Not sure if it will surpass The Way of Water, but it's likely enough.

Maybe I need to give this series another chance. I saw the first one in the movies with 3D and got motion sickness, so I really did not enjoy it at all.

Well, my buddy who saw it in IMAX 3D talked about its bumped-up framerate, which I figure applies to everywhere else.  There's always the still-impressive 2D option if you're still worried about that.

It is not getting to $2B at this point. $1.7B would save face. Anything less than $1.5B would be a disappointment.
