Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Best Wii game, besides Mario Galaxy 1/2

Besides Mario Galaxy 2 that's one of my favorite game ever, I think Zelda Twilight Princess is a great choice, but I have some really good experience with other games on the Wii that I'll put the names below:

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Rhythm Heaven Fever

Super Smash Bros Brawl

Tatsunoko x Capcom

Madworld

WarioWare: Smooth Moves

Xenoblade Chronicles

The Last Story

Sins Y Punishment Y Fold: Star Sucessor

Pandora's Tower

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn

Rune Factory Frontier

Harvest Moon: Animal Parade

Sakura Wars: So Long My Love

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King

Holy shit, Rhythm Heaven Fever (Beat the Beat: Rhythm Paradise here in Europe). Completely forgot about that one. What a game. If Megamix didn't exist, this would be my favourite in the series.

I guess I’ve really never thought about this. The Wii had so many cool experiences that didn’t necessarily scream “best game” but that I really enjoyed because of their novelty.

But I really liked Elebits, outside of its story. It was the perfect amount of mindless point and shoot coupled with strategic choices to make progress quicker. The joy of finally reaching enough energy to turn on a contraption and watch all those Pikmin, uh, I mean Elebits scatter was a thrill. Really sad this title hasn’t seen a proper sequel.

Also also really enjoyed ExciteTruck/ExciteBots. I don’t think any game has made me feel momentum and the feeling of soaring to epic heights more than these games. Also surprised neither has received a sequel.

Little King’s Story earns a high spot as well for being so damned creative and fun to play. It’s also difficult as hell and I don’t think I made it half way through the game. I’ve been waiting patiently for a remaster.

Best game on the system for me is the first Metroid Prime w/pointer controls. I like that more than even the Galaxy games but I'd still give the nod to Galaxy 2 as what I would list as the best Wii game, followed by the original. But by thread criteria, I'd go with Mario Kart Wii followed by Twilight Princess.

My next tier down would probably be Wario Land: Shake it, Punch Out, Prime 3 and Brawl.

Resident Evil 4.

I think I’d have to split my favourites into single and multiplayer games:

For single player:
Xenoblade Chronicles
Rune Factory Frontier
Resident Evil 4
Monster Hunter 3 (well, that is largely online co-op multiplayer, but that may as well be single player)
Scarface
Little King Story
Muramasa the Demon Blade
Super Paper Mario
Godfather: Blackhand Edition
Final Fantasy 4: The After years
Chrono Trigger and FF6 if we’re including VC.

For multi-player - some of these, admittedly, we’re more or less excuses to play while getting smashed and flirting with women, but there’s a lot of fun in that 😀:
WarioWare: Smooth Moves
Just Dance series (mainly 1-4)
Wii Sports
Mario Kart Wii
NSMB Wii
Kirby’s Epic Yarn
Sports Resort
Tiger Woods
Smash Bros Brawl
Umbrella Chronicles or House of the Dead: Overkill.

Forgot about Final Fantasy 4 the After Years.  I never did finish it before my Wii died out.

Oh right, I totally forgot Elebits. That was a cool experience, maybe a bit silly, but it showed what you can do with the unique controls of the Wii. And yes, the Eledees (I think that was the european title - or the other way round) were kinda cute.

Lotta great picks here!

One of the things I really liked about the Wii was how many quirky, offbeat smaller experiences it offered, versus the big HD blockbusters on PS3/360; stuff you wouldn't see in the AAA space cos it's relatively niche.

So many of the arcade shooters getting arcade ports on that list hahaha

But truthfully, Smash Brawl is the one Wii game I spent most of my time on easily. Honestly, Subspace Emissary was and is still the stuff of dream when it comes to Nintendo own crossover.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is my favorite Wii game.

I spend ages playing the N64 version, and once I saw it and The Subspace Emissary... I was blown away.

Brawl was my most-hyped game ever, and it did not disappoint. It blew my mind picking it up at midnight at launch after playing Melee in the years prior. Over 200 hours well spent on Brawl with its multiplayer and Subspace Emissary.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 161 million (was 73 million, then 96 million, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million, then 151 million, then 156 million)

PS5: 115 million (was 105 million) Xbox Series S/X: 40 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million. then 48 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

I was an N64 Smash fan, so didn’t really play Melee because it was mostly just more of the same. But the Subspace Emissary mode in Smash Brawl really made that game for me. Was very disappointed with the Wii U sequel for not including anything like it.

I would love it if Sakurai did for Smash what he did for Kirby with Kirby Superstar.
