Some of you need to learn the concept of a milestone number and some of you need to stop being an asshole to the one guy putting time and effort into still providing some estimates to this website and does so without ever complaining despite how much shit he receives from some people, even on this website, because you and they are upset that your favoured console might be under tracked or the console you don't like might be over tracked. You can discuss this stuff without being assholes. Thanks.

Will it sell 15 more millions from now when it cant even sell 2 millions a year ?

A better question would be "will it reach 30 millions ? " This is getting less and less likely

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

So with the downward adjustment, Xbox Series must sell another 8 million consoles to hit the 40m threshold.
Doesn't sound like much, but with the way it's pace is slowing, it might still be out of reach.

Almost the same amount of units Switch needs to ship to reach the 160M number.

My primary threads:

Ultimate Showdowns: JP 2023 / JP 2024 / JP 2025 / 2025 / 2024 / 2023 / 20222021

Lifetime Showdowns: Global / Regional / Historical / YOY Charts / 150M+ Club Chart

Polls: When will the Switch: Outsell the DS? / Outsell the PS2? / LT expectations of: Switch / PS5 / XBSX

Nintendo sell their Switch 1 at like 50-100$ profit margins....
They could accept a loss on hardware sales, to just clear inventory and like give it a 100$ price cut (the normal switch unit, with the dock).

Even with the Switch 2 out.... I bet a 199$ Switch, would clear 8m in a year.
If they lose like 30-40$ on hardware sold (at a 100$ price cut), 1 game bought, by the consumer that gets the Switch, would earn that back for them.
Nintendo is going over 160m no problem.

Xbox selling like ~4m a year... and having multiple years in a row, where its down 30% or more year on year....
They might not break 40m until like 2027 or later, at this rate.

How low will Xbox sales get before they manage to put out new hardware? 2024 was already the lowest in their history for a current system in a non-launch year. 2025 sales and the never ending articles about them are just going to be an embarrassment for them.

Why would anyone care about this site undertracking PS5 or Switch units? There are official data coming every quarter and putting everyone in their place. In fact those estimates are so absurdly useless I don't even know why they are being put together. Specially after last quarter and the following damage control.

I think trunkswd is doing the smart thing here by slowly adjusting to the Sony/AMD/IDG accommodating Series estimates because it's obvious that whatever he was going for before was overinflated. You make a small initial adjustment then in the following months keep shaving Series units until it looks like a remotely reasonable number.

You can leave your fanboy talk at the door as this thread was pretty much free of it until you came around.

Do you remember how much the numbers were adjustment downward?

Because I did not see it.

The only thing that matters here is if he is being fair and doing his job right.
If you think he is, then you might as well just take the opposite side of the argument rather than appealing to sentiment.
