Nintendo reported 2.24M copies of TotK in Japan, including digital, so it's roughly a 50% digital attachment for that game at launch

Count me thoroughly impressed by TotK sales! This is going to blow past BotW, which is at 2.18 million according to Famitsu.

Milly physical for TotK... man Zelda getting so big WW and Japan is crazy. Always was a quality IP, but now they can have more budget.

Zelda hitting the mil, amazing to see. Digital is getting big in japan tho it seems, a little scary since it was physical's strongest bastion.

I actually wanted to make a prediction years ago that the BotW sequel would have a bigger famitsu opening than FF VII Remake, now I kinda wish I did. Imagine hearing that in the 90s.

Switch sales actually went down on TOTK launch week. I wonder if anything other special edition Switches or hardware bundles can boos sales anymore.

Man PS5 sales were horrible last year. Both PS5 and PS4 are up greatly.

Xbox is failing even compared to its own sales last year...

Incredible sales for TotK.

Its boost to hardware has been spread across several weeks thanks to the OLED bundle and Golden Week, but that makes this week's figure seem a bit... lacklustre given the huge SW launch.

TotK is on God tier now. I wonder what it will do to sway Japanese studios like SE to release more games on Nintendo platforms given how huge the excitement is around this Nintendo IP on Switch. I do hope this will convince big companies to support the Switch with very ambitious exclusives from now on.

2nd best 20th week for the Switch though it'll calm down soon. The high digital share makes me wonder what the final game to have a 1m physical launch in Japan will be when the share gets too big for that to happen anymore.

The number of Switch Games to surpass 1 million retail in Japan according to Famitsu is now 26.
