Guess I should never upgrade my PC then, since the amount of games I play on there I shouldn't spend more than $100 for one :p However I have clocked over 3000 hours on FS2020, and easily do that on GT7 as well. It's not about the amount of games, it's about the quality.

GT7 is the real deal, RE Village as well. RE4 Remake will be another full game in VR. CotM is incredible as well as Kayak VR. Moss 1/2 are full games, amazing in VR. Tetris Effect never gets old. Thumper's and Area X's HDR visuals are stunning. Pavlov gives countless of hours of realistic online shooter action. Pistol Whip looks great, Beat Saber is coming soon. Journey to foundation looks like a great space opera in the make.

Again I've lost all interest in playing on TV. Maybe TotK can drag me out of VR like BotW had to break the spell (temporarily) last time. This time will be a lot harder to put it down as there are no barriers left. One cable, no messing around, don't need to turn the TV on at all, works everywhere, great controllers and see through mode makes it so much nicer to keep track of your environment without having to move the headset around again. The night vision effect at night is damn cool as well. (I wonder if it would be possible to make an AR game using the cameras)

Anyway, not a novelty product for me. VR makes mm excited about gaming all over again. Before PSVR2 I was trying to get through God of War. Great game, but doesn't manage to hold my attention for long play sessions. Hence still not finished lol. The big casualty for now is Netflix etc. No time to watch anymore, time to experience :)

Nope, very little interest in VR and the only title I've seen to even slightly warrant considering one is Half-Life Alyx which isn't even on PlayStation (maybe that will change in the future).

Definitely not.

No. VR is nifty but ultimately a novelty product at this point, and the price isn't really justified especially considering the library. It would need more exclusives that are really designed from the ground up to be played on VR to make it worth it for me. For the current library, about 200 is probably as high as I'd go.

You can't get any VR for $200.  It's simply out of your price range and that's okay.  It took me years to get a PS3.  I was pretty young and didn't have $500 sitting around to get one.  Even if you were interested it wouldn't matter because this hobby is way out of your price range.  Financial responsibility trump's all

Sure, you can get a used PSVR1 with camera and a few games for $100 - $200.

Eh, not sure if it was intended that way, but this comes off as very condescending and presumptuous.

If McDonalds was charging 10 bucks for a 4 piece McNuggets, I wouldn't buy them. That doesn't mean I don't have 10 dollars to spare, just that I don't think 10 dollars is a good value for 4 McNuggets. Likewise, the fact that I won't be spending 550 for PSVR2 doesn't necessarily mean that I couldn't. How much disposable income I actually have is something that you don't know and isn't any of your business anyway, so you probably shouldn't be commenting about that. ^_^

What do you guys think, should I get vr or is the switch to hdr/4k oled tv better?

Depends on what you want more. HDR/4K is the same stuff but brighter and sharper. VR totally transforms gaming, but you take a step back in resolution. And while it has theater mode to enjoy 1080p HDR gaming in up to 120fps (no VRR though), it's just more comfortable to play on TV if you're not going to play a VR game. It's cool, but however much I enjoy PSVR2, I'm not going to wear a headset to play God of War.

No I didn't mean to be condescending and I apologize if it came off that way.  No I really believe that you yourself set the rules on what you can afford and what you can't.  Having tried the VR2 I can say that it is worth the money because the experience that it provides is suitably premium.  Trust me when I say it's not something that can ever be conveyed through a flat screen video.  Playing RE8 is not the same.  It is better, it is scarier and you cant get flat games to invoke that kinda response. GT7 is a revelation. I had no idea.  There is no way I would have known.  Even Pavlov and Star Wars are absolutely incredible.

So while you have the right to not be interested, it is just wrong to say it's only  worth $200.  I can say that confidently because the tech inside is what makes it possible  And when you hopeful have the chance to experience it I think you will automatically be converted.  But I thought you were saying that you didn't have the money which is more than understandable.  These are luxury items.  They don't come before other stuff and they aren't necessary at all.

Apologies for the confusion and rock on!

Too busy at the moment and will be going overseas in June, so I'll be getting it after that, but played horizon and kayakat my mate's and it a fooking huge upgrade from psvr in every conceivable way!
