Personally, I think the Switch 2 will not come out before 2025 and I hope it will be based on Nvidia Atlan

Lmfao it's coming no later than holidays 2023.

And what makes you say that? There is no valid reason for one yet. The current model is still selling well. No point rushing something when components are a struggle to get.

Still can't buy a next gen console here, and how long have they been out? gotten to a point I will soon give up as tired of waiting. Why would Nintendo risk that? annoying consumers to a point they can't be bothered waiting anymore and don't bother buying it when they finally can.

Nvidia's own website I posted earlier shows the Jetson board as smaller.

Ah, that's why it's always a good idea to check your information before you spread it!

Whatever happens, Nintendo will prioritize battery power - as it should. Steam Deck is a disaster, as its battery life is mediocre when trying to run 3D games. It is also a behemoth in size and weight. While a fantastic device, it kind of proved Nintendo's position regarding concessions that have to be made for effective portable gaming.

And price. I find the deck a bit to expensive.

What made me laugh a lot was people being angry about the weight of the Wii U tablet but then seeing the very same persons having no problem with the weight of the Steam Deck...

Considering that BOTW 2 is officially postponed till 2023. We can consider this as a switch 2 possibly being released or announce for 2023. There also hasn't been news of Metroid prime 4 in a few years as well.

There also have been rumors that Nvidia also stopped production of the tegra x1 chipset meaning Nintendo bought out the rest of the supply in 2021 so there is a limited production of the switch. Here is one of the articles on the rumor. https://www.google.com/amp/s/wccftech.com/nintendo-switch-soc-production-stopping/amp/

It's also has not been a secret of a potential switch pro (most likely a next gen switch) with some form of 4k capabilities thanks to Ai upscaling as well circulating in the past few years another rumor of nintendo asking 3rd developers to prepare 4k assets for future games.

Given with the possible end of the switch soc production and some big name games being delayed. We maybe seeing a next gen switch a lot sooner than we think.

Well there is no need for a successor atm, but who knows what Nintendo is thinking, samples of Atlan will be ready in 2023, so that may play a part in the decision.

Also, I am struggling to buy a PS5 so there is still shortages on those and it hasn't sold that many units, so no need for Nintendo to rush.

It's better to launch and shift the momentum to the next platform rather than waiting for the momentum to die off.

If even if Nintendo launches the successor next year they won't pull the plug on the current models immediately. Plus, many games in their pipeline would likely get a cross gen release for a year or two.
