How are children asexual? Innocent perhaps and non the wiser. However for us that were more mentally mature, at a very early age in primary school I was hitting on girls at school trying to get them to go out with me. I guess it may depend on the country you grow up in on how progressive this topic is. Hell we even had sex ed classes in grade 4 to tell us about the birds and the bees. 

Haven't seen the film, but Im guessing most of the outrage comes form US - Europe is much more comfortable with artistic forms, and this coming from France doesn't surprise me much (Blue is the Warmest Color got Palme D'Or in 2013 with what amounts to lengthy softcore finale).

So is their any evidence that millions of people have cancelled netflix?

haha wow never heard of this movie but after doing some "research", yeah the sex scenes are pretty long, explicit and definitely what you would call softcore.

For comparison. That movie is rated NC-17 in the US (highest rating), while in France it got a 12 rating.

I actually watched that one (didn't like it one bit) just to see what kind of film got Palm over gem that is Like Father, Like Son.

Hollywood had nothing to do with with it the movie is French.  Also l hate to burst your bubble but nudity isn't a big deal in Europe it really never was there are paintings that feature nude bodies since ancient times.

Didn't they already cover this like in the first season? The episode there the enraged parents fling themself against the TV station to protest against Terrence&Philipp. These days the TV-station get's replaced with Netflix and flinging people with a social media shit storm, but the basic premise stays the same, don't you think?

I'm usually trying to stay away from political discussions on this site, but... That interview is one of the worst parts of this whole affair. This woman knowingly exploited young children and made them twerk on camera, directing a film with close-up shots of underage girl's crotches and there is even a scene in the movie where the 11 year old main character takes a nude p*ssy shot with a phone camera and posts that on social media so an adult guy will get into trouble. And yet the director says she is fighting for women's rights!! You can literally direct a softcore porn movie about 11 year old girls these days, you just have to claim "it's for women's rights"! 

Imagine it was not a pretty young woman directing the movie but an overweight 50 year old guy. Would you still think the same and applaud this? Hint: Women can be pedophiles, too. 

I'm sorry, but letting an 11 year old girl perform sexual dances on camera is NOT fighting for women's rights! It's exploitation of underage girls. It's the most regressive, anti-woman movie we've had in a long time.

It's only fair. The US rates violence in movies actually very low compared to europe. In the US sexuality is a bad thing, but violence isn't apparently.
