Forums - Nintendo - Wii U - 6 YEARS CELEBRATION!

There are several Wii U games that I like, but overall I found the console disappointing. Then again, I've found even fewer PS4 games that I like, which makes it more disappointing. Really every console released during 2011-2013 has been disappointing.

Hey, 3DS released in that period! You don't say that was disappointing...

3DS-FC: 4511-1768-7903 (Mii-Name: Mnementh), Nintendo-Network-ID: Mnementh, Switch: SW-7706-3819-9381 (Mnementh)

my greatest games: 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024

10 years greatest game event!

I got one later in life and had a 3DS so I didn't suffer from droughts, though I was definitely bummed at the lack of Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing, Paper Mario, etc. The games it did have were great though, including the god that is Splatoon! No idea where I'd be today without that amazing game!

Congrats I guess, I found WiiU in the end to be Nintendo’s weakest console, and a mediocre one overall. Even though it was one of the tiny few I actually got Day One.

I think the best things that came out of it were Captain Toad and Mario Maker. The former finally giving a personality to Toad is a similar manner Luigi’s Mansion did to Luigi, and it was a fun and well executed concept. The latter was the reason WiiU needed to exist, but sadly it’s community died off too quickly. Mario Kart 8 is obviously a great Mario Kart as well. Breath of the Wild though doesn’t really fell like it’s WiiU’s game similarly to Twilight Princess and GameCube, so in my mind it didn’t really do anything to elevate WiiU’s image anymore, brilliant as the game may be.

I feel the same, Zelda seems more like a Switch Port on WiiU, and it should have been the other way. It was supposed to be THE GAME that would show the full potential of the gamepad.

For the WiiU it came much too late, but for the game itself it turned out to be much better. There’s no way it would’ve gotten the exposure and sales it got on Switch had it come say, 2015 to WiiU exclusive.

Maybe they should have done different versions from the point the game was introduced first in 2014. The same game but each one using their own capacities. I would love to play that 2014/15 Zelda.

Worst Nintendo console in all aspects.

Xenoblade X, Mario Kart 8 and very lately Zelda saved it in the memories.

Unfortunately not many will join your party. But hooray

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Nintendo killed the Wii U legacy by porting most games on the Switch. I feel very sorry for the people who supported Nintendo with the Wii U.

You don't need to feel sorry, Wii U has a lot of great games.

Never doubted that but if you own a Switch you don't need a Wii U. So the people who bought a Wii U and a Switch got ripped of by Nintendo in my opinion.

Oh, I see. I don't have a Wii U or a Switch, but I got your point now.
