They don't sell 8 GB models anymore. Haven't for quite a long while. And I think the Wii U is the only 8th gen console that allows for external HDD's. |
I think Japan has them packaged with Wii Party U and NSMBU among other things. They started bundling the basic model with family friendly games. Don't think you can buy the console separately anymore though.
OT: It's quite unlikely for Activision to drop full support for Nintendo as not all their games under perform. It's not looking good for COD but I don't know enough about budgets and resources to know whether or not the new installment would be worth it. It might be a nice thought to spread the Hyrule Warriors idea over to other games and genres. Keep the core of the game the same but add some Nintendo flavour to it so you can promote it as an exclusive. This does require some extra input from Nintendo, perhaps send a couple people over to Treyarch. (I feel as though this is a direction they are trying to move towards, that way they can promote the Wii U as the console to play all those great Nintendo exclusives on without alienating third parties.)
For me personally the series has become too stale. I recently got a chance to play Black Ops II and it just doesn't spark my interest as some other shooters in the past have been able to. Dropping support wouldn't be the worst thing in the world though I'd much rather see my scenario play out.
