Damn, what happened to gaming nowadays? People don't buy a game because they don't get ripped-off with overpriced DLC?

I'm already getting old...

Man, we played stuff like Counter-Strike, Quake 1-3 or Unreal Tournament because it had tons of free content. Some of the best maps were user generated and were even played in championships.

I know, this is sad!!!! But as i mentioned before, new Multiplayer Maps are really important to Call of Duty: Ghosts gamers, and thats why no one purchased the Nintendo Wii U Version in my opinion!!!

Yeah, that's sad. They pay $60 for a game with 14 maps and another $60 for further 12 maps.

A new game with 26 maps every 2 years would be much better, but they try to milk the shit out of it.

Quake 2 & 3 were also published by Activision. That's how times have changed.

You are absolutly right!!! But as long as gamers purchase Call of Duty games nothing will ever change!!!

If they do the same stuff this gen like last gen, the series will have it's problems. Gamers are already tired.

Activision already killed Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk's Skatboarding this way.

But I don't know... Everyone complains about CoD, but they still buy it.

Right!!! And i must say that i also purchased Call of Duty: Ghosts for the Nintendo Wii U, but i did this because i wanted to support Nintendo :)

Is it true that the graphics improved significantly in singleplayer after a few patches?

I only saw some screenshots shortly before release and they looked poorly.

Can't be a quality port in the first place if you can improve the graphics with a patch...

Sorry, i can`t tell you this ;) It`s unbelievable but since i have the game i only played the Multiplayer Mode :D

No COD after Modern Warfare sold below 5 million on the PS3. You're grasping at straws.

COD 3

Wii: 2.2m

PS3 1.42m

Wii missed out on the series explosion with COD4 cos Activision screwed Nintendo gamers.

it wasn't so much Activision but IW refusing to work on Nintendo platforms. Activision shoudl have had the balls to tell them to make one.

And forced the gimping of the HD twins versions, potentialy ruining the multi billion dollar franchise before it even got going?  Or would you prefer that the Wii version of COD4 just ran like shit compared to the others with stripped down features?  If you want to know the reason COD4 didn't release for the Wii along side the other versions it's because Nintendo released an overclocked Gamecube to compete against multicore, shader model 3.0 consoles with almost 10 times the RAM & an onine focus.

So who's fault was it that the nexgen COD with it's new engine and online focus didn't release on Wii?  The blame lands square on Nintendo for not making a powerful enough console.  I played W@W for hundreds of hours on Wii because I was an idiot, it's far from a good version with it's low resolution and under 30 FPS performance & missing content.  Or was the low frame rate, resolution, & lack of feature pairity because of lazy devs?

The fans that where there for COD3 on Wii, slowly moved to the HD twins, not because of any one game, but because almost every truly exciting multiplatform game was either not on the Wii, or the Wii had a crap version.  It didn't take people long to pick up on the trend, these same people are the fans who are holding off on buying a Wii U now because it seems to have the same problems as the Wii (out of step with the competition power wise) without any of the Wii's positive points as a piece of hardware.

If Treyarch can made a great COD game on Wii along with the other games then IW could have done too. oh wait they are a bunch of talentless wanna be developers who lucked out and think they are too cool to develop on a kiddie system.

The reason I say lucked out is because since then their COD games have been nothing but save games that don't do anythign new to the series. At least Treyarch have shown they can try out new things and been rewarded for it.

Yes, it's true.

When it launched, the game had a shoddy framerate, and texture loading bugs that left N64-level textures in many scenes. Plus there were freezing bugs.

There's been two patches since then, and now textures load properly, the framerate dips less, and the freezing no longer occurs.

That doesnt answer my question why did sales drop and continue drop after intial release? Its ok if you dont know. The they dont want to play it on a small screen doesnt hold water.

OK, thats fair, still doesnt explain why the PS4/Xone versions did MUCH better than Wii U versions, did Wii U owners also buy those systems in mass? Kind of doubt that. You still answer my question i was talking WII U ONLY owners, not multiplat. whats stopping them?

Already explained that in a prior post, we're kinda going in circles on that one, haha.

PS4 and Xbone had better launch sales than Wii U, would include more of the active COD base because they would be mostly moving on from the series' stronghold on PS360, and again, Wii U owners at this point are mostly the hardcore Nintendo fans, who are more likely to turn their nose up at yet another subpar port.

so at the end of the day there isnt really an audience for these types of games, as they all sell about the same (not great) subpar OR not.
Edit: hell even if they weren "subpar" which they are not since they run about the same as the PS360 versions. THey would at most double the sales and thats being modest and that would still be poor sales

There is an audience for FPS games. There just isn't much of an audience for subpar ports from a series that has been mishandled on Nintendo systems for 6 years.

Maybe it's only in Germany and it's a little too generalizing:
Nintendo fans are maybe the ones who care the most about pure gameplay.
The Nintendo fans that I know are either not interested in first person shooters or they play them on PC because gameplay with a mouse is way better.
And the ones I know who play shooters on PS3 and X360 usually don't like Nintendo games.

No there isnt, Wii U sales for the games says otherwise, and they are no more subpar than PS3 version and those still sell. Even if they werent subpar they wouldnt sell that much better.

Because there aren't really any desirable Wii U FPS games yet. COD is technically subpar and Activision has progressively alienated its Nintendo fanbase over the last 6 years, Deus Ex is a port of a two year old game, and 007 Legends was trash. Launch a good Wii U FPS without major commercial handicaps and we'll see how it sells.
