Forums - Gaming - So. 3DS vs Vita, now what?

Now? Bring on the games!
Sony has a fantastic shot at winning this handheld gen, and they better take aim!

I wouldn't be surprised to see Nintendo reduce the price of the 3DS to $199 and give current 3DS owners a free game download (or two) to compensate for paying $250.

With the starting price being the same, this fight just got very interesting.

For the $249 price tag, the PSV looks to be more machine for the money.

its really simple: 3DS is going to Dreamcast there self away, sure nintendo will still release some games but who is going to buy an 3DS when they can buy an PSV for the same price and is getting better games and better support from Japanese and western developers.

Um you do know nintendo has about a profit margin of 100-150 on the devices, and can easily afford a price drop. Right now the third party line-up is not as solid for either. I am wait and see kind of a guy, and honestly Nintendo has decent line-up first party, and so does sony. I am sold on both devices, but to act like one is dead, is jumping the gun, while the other hasn't even launched.

3DS just released, I doubt it will get a price drop so soon (especially since Nintendo has owned the handheld market, they won't see a need to until long after Vita is released and if its doing better). As for the third party support for Vita, it's not even close to being out yet and if the games that have been announced so far are launch titles, then it will have a better launch than in terms of games than the 3ds did.

It will be fun to watch, but now the great difference between the two is the 3d, And we have seen not so much anthousiasme in the ds about that.

Vita as almost everything the 3ds have, but we can say they got the tablet style it self.

At this price, we can honestly say it will be fun to see.

Looking for nintendo conf. tomorrow to say something about that.

once monster hunter and cod is relesed for PSV 3ds is doomed

I think Nintendo still has the upper hand: Stronger first party showing of games, but thats just opinion.

It's just that simple.

While it seems Sony finally understands what to do with games on the portable scene...

Nintendo have Mario Kart this Holiday. And the option to cut the price, if they so wish.

3DS will outsell Vita this Holiday. Unless of course, NGP gets a MH game releasing in Japan, alongside a Call of Duty in America and a Gran Turismo in Europe.

I'm saying the have the option of doing that move. Not that they will.

I do (that is... I already did).

In the end serious gamers will (have to) get both. PSV looks awesome (great price too), but it doesn't have Mario and Zelda (which is what I want).
