The 3Ds looks dated and expensive.

Agreed. Every iteration of their handhelds after the Color has one or two fatal flaws that keep me from buying them. I still have hope though.

Wow. I did not know that 3d without glasses was dated. Thats strange.

What are PSPS2s specs? When I see em I can make a decision.

Far superior to 3DS', that's for certain

And we have to remember, people, that we actually had the 360 undercut the Wii on price at one point, which didn't make a lick of difference at the time. Consumers don't seem to equate value in an apples to apples way in this industry

Hmm? That's completely misinterpreting the situation. Of course consumers look at value, it's just that they don't value the same things as you. The Wii continued to sell well even after price drops on the competitiors because it had the games people wanted. Then Nintendo focussed their attention on DS and 3DS and so the big games got less frequent and sales died off.

@ the 3DS is domed crowd. Personally, looking at the game lineups, I can tell that Nintendo already has the more popular lineup of games. Sure, VGChartz will disagree with me, but this site is mostly full of people that love Sony 1st party - this site is not representative of the gaming population. So the 3DS has

More popular games announced, revealed and released.

More games to be announced in a handful of hours.

A much higher profit margin, allowing for a reduction in price if needed.

A slight lead in install base, which will be significant by the actual release of Vita.

I am not trying to tell you that Vita is doomed. It will do well, it may even end up outselling the PSP to become the highest selling non-Nintendo portable ever!

He was talking about PSP like graphics in games not 3D gimmick.

Just do like I have been doing, wait for the 3DS price drop. I'll get it at $149 or so. Nintendo is fucked for the rest of the year, but I imagine come holiday time it'll see a huge HUGE price drop.

looking at the past 2 mario karts, Wii and DS im sure Nintendo can at least depend on Mario Kart to drive sales also... and my main concern is that the Vita will compete with PS3 since they will both have the same games since there practically similar in processing power.I think after Nintendo confrence we will see more of what 3DS can do

3DS will be fine, don't worry.

But imagine the shitstorm if the 3DS was still £230 ($378).

That price parity is nice for people in the states, shame it's not the same everywhere else...

VGChartz

so this debate is how nintendos legacy franchises will be called up to try and beat the vita which is using franchises set up in the past 3-5 years or so?
sounds like a win for vita.
imagine what will happen when new MGS, GT and god of war titles are announced for vita.

I'm very impressed by Vistas price and global 2011 launch. I think Sony did everything right that they could. But I sill think the 3DS has the upper hand for now. A global holiday launch likely means significant shortages for Vita this holiday. Mario Kart, Mario 3DS, and Animal Crossing are all sill scheduled to release before March. So far the biggest game officially announced for Vita is Uncharted I think. Which will not sell as much as any of those games. I think Nintendo is in a good position to release new colors this Holiday to drive demand and to reevaluate price in April.
Overall i think the future is bright for both systems.

I think Nintendo will have to show some heavy artillery today.
My thoughts at this point is that the diference between Sony's and Nintendo's handheld market share is not going to be really big this generation.
