I don't think Capcom will see this nor will they care, they are getting more than what they bargained for here. For me personally, I double dip when its a really good game. For GTA 5 I triple dipped, PS3, PS4 and PC. I'll do the same for RDR 2 when it releases on PC.

Really, such fans existed? Is that for real or are these crazy fans made up? Or more likely, were there one or two of fans making such statements?

Not sure, but taking his words at face value shows he wasn't paying attention at all when World was announced.

Back then when the game was announced, Nintendo fans and MH players that I know said to my face: "the game will utterly fail on PS4". I replied it to Dr.Vita since I guess he had the same experience. When I read his post I thought "hell yeah I had to hear that too, that the game would fail on PS4"..

Back then, as a Nintendo and MonHun fan I was kinda pissed that MHW missed the Switch. But after I cleared my mind about, I was pretty clear, that I see no reason for this to fail horribly. It was likely that MHW would be bigger in the west, simply because Capcom started to care. The 3DS-titles were late if at all localized, with MHW this was obviously different and they also made a marketing push for the west. So it was clear MHW would grow in the west. For Japan Playstation fans expected a strong drop in sales. I remember in the thread about it, I argued against Playstation fans, that in no way MHW would sell that bad in Japan.

You tell me... In the thread about Japan, the PS-fans were the one declaring one million or 1.5 million would be a great success. They didn't really believe MHW had 2M and more in it (for Japan specifically). As I said, at first I was bummed out that this wasn't coming to Switch and it influenced my expectations. As my mind cleared I expected good sales, as show these posts. I didn't gave any prediction, as I couldn't, but I was not decrying decline. In the contrary, in the japan-sales thread it were the PS-fans that expected low sales in Japan. But the revised history claims the Nintendo fans were the one seeing it crash and burn.

Anyways it was a good choice to not aim to put this on the 3DS... but instead go for the PS4/XB1/PC.

PS4 ~6m
XB1 ~2.3m
PC ~3.3m

Thats big for a single title of Monster Hunter.... like the biggest of the series has ever been.
