Back then, as a Nintendo and MonHun fan I was kinda pissed that MHW missed the Switch. But after I cleared my mind about, I was pretty clear, that I see no reason for this to fail horribly. It was likely that MHW would be bigger in the west, simply because Capcom started to care. The 3DS-titles were late if at all localized, with MHW this was obviously different and they also made a marketing push for the west. So it was clear MHW would grow in the west. For Japan Playstation fans expected a strong drop in sales. I remember in the thread about it, I argued against Playstation fans, that in no way MHW would sell that bad in Japan.
