I get it, but laughing at them just make them want their way even more. Also there really arent that many gamers happy about the end of physical games. Just look at Sonys original post. Im guessing its like 99% of the people posting on there are roasting Sony or telling them its not a good idea. Dont let the people mocking us for wanting physical games to stay get to you. They will understand over time. We dont have to do much because Sony keep making excellent points as to why physical games should stay around. Like removing purchased movies, closing down PS3 and Vita stores, their network being down etc...

This isn't normalized yet. Internet connection is only needed to download them (naturally lol). If you have your digital games stored in an external HDD, an internet connection isn't required to move them to the internal storage.

Don't quite a few games demand a connection to play even single player, like COD or some of Ubisoft's stuff?

Don't know about these, but games focused on the MP side may require it. The only single player game I have that does require it is Gran Turismo 7, but it is a live service game first and foremost, and it's one of the rare exceptions as far as I know.

I'm just saying that having no internet connection isn't going to impact the vast majority of your singleplayer games. Some people on Twitter are spreading misinformation that you can't play your digital game while PSN is down lol. But you know what? Current Sony deserve all the disinformation they can get, so props to them!

GT7 has no excuse needing an internet connection. There is 90GB worth of content on the disc and it's fully functional and content full as an offline single player experience.

I do agree with everything you said, but hammering the point of how important physical media is, and how bad it will be when we don't have it anymore, when we have practical examples like yesterday, it's actually a good thing to do.

It was also cheeky, yes, but I didn't personally aim it at anyone, which I would only make if they where personally aiming shit at me previously, or if it was a troll, so it's not like anyone got to me, but the situation surely gets to me very hard, it does, it's the worst thing I've ever seen gaming get threatened by.

I actually don't like and make sure to address the shit people invent when there is an actual bad thing happening, this stuff about most digital games not being able to be played is one of them, or many others.

Even as Sony does deserve as much shit as people can throw their way right not, it disperses the actual issue in many bubbles of stupidity that can take away from it, and also give Sony something to answer other than what they are actually doing and being silent about.

And you and @Otter are right about GT7, there is no excuse for it, requiring internet to play a game that has a full and vast amount of SP content and is ridiculous.

People acting like PSN going down stops all digital games from working 🤔 … PSN goes down plenty, I’ve never lost access to a single digital game ever.
