Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if Tomodachi gives the Switch one last 10 million plus seller.

Once again, people can laugh all they want but their first party social sim/farm games are hella popular with their demographic.
Also, first console to likely surpass the 20M bar in its first market year !

Yeah there's still another 2 months and 4 days from the 30th of March til Switch 2's first birthday, so it may yet reach 21 million in it's first 12 months which would be a hell of an achievement.

Huge sales for Pokemon Fired Red/Leaf Green
I believe counterintuivily the controversy about it being overpriced or not really helped it
It gave the release too many headlines and online discourse to what would be an otherwise low-key and uneventful release that could just pass outside of the radar of main audiences
Mario Tennis Fever apparently did not cross 1 milj.
Could be the reason Nintendo changing their pricing somewhat in places (digital cheaper)
Good quarter for Nintendo. Reaching just under 20m for the Switch 2 in its first fiscal year and first 10 months is an incredible start. It's gonna notably slow down going forward thanks to stuff like the upcoming price increase but it should continue selling well and they've already reached enough of an install base that thanks to the Switch 2 they're set for a good while.
For the Switch 1 they failed to reach the revised down forecast and are increasing its price in Japan soon which will tank its sales in the last major region it's still doing decently so that's truly the end of any last hopes of it reaching 160m. The 2m forecast is a little higher than I expected but it's very possible they miss it and 2m wouldn't be enough since after March next year shipments of the Switch will be very low. The DS shipped a bit more than 2m from April 2012 till March 2013 but shipped basically nothing afterwards. It'll still get to 158m though which is amazing.

I'm actually more surprised at people being surprised at the success, Tomodachi did 6m+ on 3DS the sim genre have been one of Nintendo's best performing genre for a while.
