Perfect christmas system seller!

Are we expecting a  major Mario game? (too early imo).

Ps for f@sk sake, why no one asks him about the plans about Nintendo switch 1?

We can get a hint..

NateTheHate says no 3D Mario until next year. Nintendo’s likely holding off all their (casual) heavy-hitters until a more affordable SKU is available, i.e. Switch 2 Lite. This year we should only expect OoT Remake and perhaps some extra little things. I’ve also heard a Super Metroid remake is in the works for release this year.

According to the quarterly results Q&A, Nintendo President Furukawa says that Switch 2 sales in the West have picked up following the release of Pokopia:

They did imply software support will continue for Switch 1:

Huh… that’s interesting. I’d imagine Yoshi’s Woolly World (according to the NS2 April 2025 Direct) and Kirby Planet Robobot (according to NateTheHate2) are still down the NS1 pipeline. But I guess maybe we’ll see whether we get any more Tomodachi Life or Rhythm Heaven releases— it would break Nintendo precedent, but leadership changes. Furukawa has proven to be vastly different than all previous leadership (and for the better IMO. His focus is on expanding, not building, IP. This is clearly seen in comparing Wii/Wii U lineup to NS1 and especially NS2 (which debuted with Kirby Air Rider and Donkey Kong of all things)).

Kind of predictable in a sense. They'd certainly want to copy the Switch success down to it's details like this. Also means that dev teams delivering projects early on in this cycle will likely have another game or two this generation to add on top.

Yeah just as we got BOTW/Splatoon 2/Xenoblade 2 in 2017 then TOTK/Splatoon 3/Xenoblade 3 in 2022/2023, we'll likely get the next game from the teams behind Mario Kart World, DK Bananza, etc around 2030.

The fact that Monolith Soft has worked on all those games leaves me absolutely impressed.

I hope we get a nice game to go along OoT Remake on the holiday season. S2 needs all the help it can to counter the $500 price.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Unless Nintendo fucked up to a monumental degree, Ocarina won't be all they have going in to the holidays. Even in 2024, when EPD had moved on to Switch 2 and Switch 1 was in its twilight, they still had three new games for the holidays in Mario Party Jamboree, Echoes of Wisdom, and Mario & Luigi Brothership.

Im sure Switch 1 will surpass PS2 after 2027 holidays.

True. I think it would be cool if they had a new Mario Party or something along those lines. It'd be a good pair to go with Ocarina (casual x hardcore) a cover most bases.

Given Jamboree just came out in 2024 and got a Switch 2 version, I wouldn't expect a new Mario Party until at least 2027. I feel like they're pretty well covered in terms of casual games for this year already given Pokopia, Tomodachi, and Yoshi, probably best to focus on the hardcore crowd in the second half of the year.
