Probably controversial and laughable to a lot of people, but for me it's Outer Worlds 2.

Donkey Kong Bananza

E33. Then again it was the only game I played that came out this year. lol

It is hard to pick between tbe two, both were so good.  I would like to see silent hill f get more press, feels like nobody talks about it despite being top 3 all time horror games. 

Ghost of Yotei.

Just finished Donkey Kong Bananza yesterday (the main story, there are more things to do now), good game, will be number 2 for now but I will probably take years updating my list as I play other games from this year, will try to move back to Death Stranding 2 soon so it might change already.

Clair Obscur Expedition 33, Phantom Brave the Lost Hero, Digimon Story Time Stranger, there are some really promision games for me yet to play.
Then other stuff like Ninja Gaiden 4 and Ragebound, Shinobi Art of Vengeance, The First Berserker Kazan, Hollow Knight Silksong.

Yeah, it's hard to keep up with GOTYs so close to our current days.

Late to the thread, but I took some days contemplating in order to not fall prey to the recency bias for what I played during the christmas break.

So my personal GotY list for 2025 is:

1. Borderlands 4 (playtime 183 hours)
2. Metroid Prime 4 (playtime roughly 30 hours)
3. Blue Prince (playtime 30 hours)
4. Tears of the Kingdom [first time played 2025] (playtime roughly 60 hours)
5. Keeper (playtime 5,5 hours)

Honorable mentions: Doom the Dark Ages (playtime 34,5 hours) & Donkey Kong Bananza (playtime roughly 30 hours)

Jesus. I didn't even know it released.
