Hello friends. It's friday night, and I want to write something. So I was remembering my old Flash times where I found stuff made by fans that were... Funny, on their own way.
I made this thread not to bash the work of fans, by the contrary, some of them have a huge creativity. I just want to show some times where they threw the canon stuff on the trash and let their imagination go wild.
So, let's begin. Remember that those are based on my own experiences.
5 - Destroying Mario and Luigi clones to protect the castle
Super Mario Defense is a flash game where Mario and Luigi find a machine that can make clones. Soon, they create a lot of troops to destroy Bowser's castles. As Bowser's last stand, your mission is to put traps to destroy the waves of clones before they get to you. In order to do that, you must "purchase" traps like cannons, springs, and other stuff that cause damage to the clones.
Now, I put this on 5th place because... Well, it's not strange at all. It's just a bit of a weird concept, but since this game is amazing, I thought about spreading the word.
You can try it here.
4 - Kirby, the secret agent sitcom
We all know Nintendo did a lot of things to Kirby after all those years. But have you ever thought about Kirby being an secret agent that can talk, interact to humans, and solve missions? Well, that's Perfect Kirby, an animation made by a fan.
I watched this series when I was a teenager, and it was one of my favorites. You may think Kirby being an secret agent is not a very weird idea, maybe even Nintendo could do that, but seeing Kirby talking with a strong voice, and being like James Bond is at least funny. And the jokes... Oh my God, the adult jokes...
You can watch it here.
3 - Eggman's Transformations
Eggman Hates Furries (?) is a fan game that uses the classic Sonic the hedgehog gameplay. It features some weird bosses, but at the end is where things get very bizarre.
Eggman gets the power of the emeralds and becomes... Super Saiyan Eggman. Well, the fact that he gets the emeralds and turns into a super form is not that out of place at all, but what comes next is very random. After being defeated, he becomes "Dark Angel Eggman". If you don't think this is out of place, I have no way to convince you.
And that's because I didn't mentioned the last cutscene, where after Sonic rescues Tailes, they... Kiss... Yeah...
This is 3rd place because not only it's completely out of the canon realm, but because it's just kinda disturbing.
2 - Doctor Wily's true form
Mega Man RPG 2 is a classic flash game where you play as the blue bomber against all bosses from the second game, and some extra in an RPG style. We even have an official Mega Man RPG game for PS2 and GameCube, right? Nothing out of ordinary... That is, until you meet the final boss.
Somehow, Doctor Wily reveals that he has a hidden power. A super transformation. Whoa... And what does he become? An stickman... Yes, an Stickman...
Everything was running fine until this point, but the creator really let their imagination go wild at this final battle. Anyway, this game is super cool and you can play it here at Newgrounds.
1 - The Final Fantasy VI we have at home
Final Fantasy Flash was one of my first experiences with an RPG back when I was like 13 or 14. In this game you take control of one of our four heroes: Kain, Terra, Cloud or Sephiroth. Each of them has their unique attacks.
Let's talk about the plot: You arrive at a village, and an Old Man tells you about the monster at the town. That's very Final Fantasy-ish, right? Well... Not exactly.
Believe it or not, one of the first enemies you encounter in this town is... Mario. Yes, THE Mario. No dialogue happens with him, he just fights you and if you win, he'll give you a iten, and leave. Yeah, makes sense, huh?
I already spoiled what is the monster invading the town in the picture above, but I won't spoil you who's the true final boss, and what their attacks are. You'll have to play the game here.
Thanks for reading so far, before I go, I have one question for you all: Do you guys like this kind of stuff, I mean, when fans let their imagination go wild with series and games we love? Do you enjoy thinking of your favorite characters facing situations and worlds that go out of the canon stuff?
Have a nice weekend!
