Got another. Games like Wipout and F Zero that now ho to superhuman speeds with the SSD or can now have sim racing levels of graphics because of the SSD. It makes so much sense and I don't understand why Sony didn't do a AAA Wipeout game to showcase the SSD.

Fast Facing RMX. Redout 1-2. GRIP. Check them out. All good games. GRIP is a spiritual successor to Rollcage. Not played it myself but Rise Race To the Future is another one out there.

I tried Red out and didn't like it. I'll check out these other two though, thanks for the tip, do either or one or the other actually use the SSD and go inhuman speeds? Or is that something we still haven't gotten yet?

Nah. Shin Megami Tensei and Digimon story games. Cyberseluth and Hackers Memory are especially good. The SMT series is always great. Well, Hackers 2 isn't great. More of you need to play SMTV-V and SMTIII Nocturne and the rest of the series, but the last two are excellent and easily accessible. Why I wasn't a big fan of it due to the pacing. A lot of people like Ni No Kuni.

Yeah, I always heard really good things about Ni No Kuni, I tried Ni No Kuni 2 to no success for me but I understand the first has the monster system which sets it apart. I don't know much about the rest but I know enough to agree with the OP, we do need one to modernise and mature a game like Pokemon.

Also, MGS5 TPP is technically a monster hunting game as you kidnap enemies and turn them to do your bidding. Easily the best and most quality monster hunting game as this is the main loop of the game that got me playing to near 700 hours.

I like SMTV:V and SMTIII, but they only kind of, sort of, fill the Pokemon niche in that you're capturing monsters. They lack one of the key features that made Pokemon popular and keeps it popular, which is trading and battling with friends and family. They're more traditional RPGs with monster-capturing elements than true "mon" games. Dragon Quest Monsters does allow you to capture the familiar Toriyama monsters and it also has an online component, though it isn't nearly as lively as Pokemon. That may be okay with you, but most of the people who play Pokemon would like to interact with other people. The social aspect is pretty well baked into Pokemon.

I want to see cozy games go to the next level. There are so many players out there that love crafting and exploring but find combat a bit stressful. I’m not one of those players, but I know the cozy genre could really use a “Breath of the Wildâ€Â moment. Minecraft is great and all, but what an ugly game. Surely we could see something with the charm of Animal Crossing and the scope of a Breath of the Wild-lite.

I want karts to race in, mountains to climb, caves to explore, but without major enemies or boss battles. I want to have to resource gather to increase my stamina and I want to upgrade shops to have better vehicles or items.

This is a genre that I think is poised for greatness and with just a bit of investment we could be in for a very fun, rewarding time.

That's kind of what Roblox is. Fortnite is moving in that direction, too.

I must have misrepresented what I wanted because I don’t see any of that in those games.

Yes to all of this. Especially the last one.

I'd like to see the next Smash Bros move to 3-D, done in the style of Power Stone (since I assume that the Power Stone team has long since departed from Capcom.)

Everyone needs more of what they grew up with due to nostalgia

I need more games that actually feel like games and don't bore the hell out of me with stupid storys and cutscenes. Too many games just rip me out of the experience by yet another cutscene, provided that I even get that far and don't ragequit in the middle of a stupid and lengthy tutorial that gets on my nerves even more.

I started playing Elden Ring two weeks ago and I finally get why Soulslikes are that popular. Because they actually feel like games and don't treat the player like a dumbass. You start the game, you play, end of story. Don't bother me with a story or make the story kinda optional like in Metroid Prime or something. Nintendo also gets that gameplay is key. I also started playing Tomb Raider 4-6 remastered and got instantly hooked again. So I guess more of the 90s? But it's really not about eras. It's about gameplay and too many games these days try to be a movie instead.

Yeah, that's my rant for the topic. =P
