Many thought the Switch 1 prices were high when it launched (myself included) and thought it would hinder its success, but it is still doing great. I expect the Switch 2 to have similar arguments made against it, only to smash them later.

Remember when the PS5 Pro was a guaranteed flop?

Wut?

I dont think with these prices the console will fly off the shelves. Yesterday i was basically 100% certain i would get the console at launch. Getting the switch 2 inluding mkw and a proper controller assuming that i cannot use the pro controller 1 with switch 2 games is gonna set me back roughly 600€. Thats a lot more than i was expecting. I will probably wait and see how the retail prices will really be in europe, since switch games cost a lot less when bought near launch eg 40€ for mario wonders.
I can see nintendo pulling an early price cut as with 3ds to achieve proper sales

It's still early but it's looking like after a good launch it's slowed down a lot so will probably sell significantly worse than the PS4 Pro. The pricing of it is definitely notably hurting sales I'd say.

I wouldn't call 450$ on the high side .. Before it was, but now with everything going up, 450$ is the new 399 or even 350$. Little more than what was the standard 299$, but nowhere near high. Decent. I went ahead with the PS4 level vote.

The MKW bundle is actually £430 here in the UK so it's competitively priced, standard is £395 meaning MKW is only £35 in the bundle.

I say high side cause it's the highest they could've gone without things starting to get unreasonable. A full 200 increase over the Switch would've been asking a lot.

That said yes. However it's okay and normal for the prices to go up when the time move on. With the inflation last couple of years, 449$ is okayish. it's almost the same thing as the Switch was in 2017 - 299$ is 392$ now, so just 50$ above is still in the reasonable range.

75-100 million right now. The price of the console is OK, but I would've preferred it cost about $399. I'm not a big fan of the price increase of the games, though. $70 was already pretty high for new games, but $80 for some games is ridiculous.

It's still in the reasonable range yeah. Not that long ago a lot of people were expecting 349 which was always silly considering recent inflation and the price of the Switch 1 OLED model. A 499 Switch 2 OLED model could be a bit of a tough sell so that probably won't make up half of Switch 2 sales late in its life.
