That is where I am at, which aligns with my prediction.  The S2 simply doesn't have the power to manage 60 fps in modern games, it largely is off the table, with a few exceptions here and there.  Even RE9 doesn't hold 60 fps, and the game requirements are quite low (1660 gpu and 8th gen i5).

I mean it depends on which games; demanding AAA PS5/Xbox Series games will mostly not be 60fps, but not all modern games are CPU heavy or push more than Switch 2 can handle. It'll come down to the technical makeup of the game in question and whether the developers have the necessary resources to achieve it.

Certainly I was referring to AAA, not indie games like Hades.  RE9 isn't locked 60 fps, games are only getting more demanding.  AAA is 30 fps for the S2.  Just part of the hardware.

The demanding blockbuster stuff that's CPU heavy will be mostly 30fps, yeah; with Requiem getting close to 60 most of the time I reckon they'll be some high-performance titles that manage to get all the way there, just as we saw some 60fps stuff on Switch 1 like Rogue Company, Rocket League, Mortal Kombat 11, Prince of Persia, etc.

GPU bound games will have more room to flex by pulling back on resolution and other settings.

Those RE9 minimum system requirements are for lowest settings without RT.

When you turn on RT, it's much heavier, heavier than DOOM actually. Then again, you can't turn off RT in DOOM, like in RE9. I don't know - if they do manage to pull 60fps in SW2 version, that would probably be a great example of miracle port.

With the speed + number of enemies on the screen... and RT being required, I would be stunned if it hits 60 fps.  But who knows, time will tell.

Yeah...certainly looking forward to see all the things they had to do to make it happen, if they indeed manage to deliver 60fps.

I would expect it to be 30fps, just cos when you're working with a much more constrained piece of hardware it's just a more realistic target that requires less dramatic sacrifices to the core experience.
