Doom 2016 and Eternal worked just fine at 30fps on Switch; 60fps is obviously better if it's feasible, but if Dark Ages makes the jump to Switch 2 I expect the devs will opt for 30fps rather than struggle to reach 60 and probably having to significantly change stuff like level designs or enemy counts in the process.

I'll have to believe you on that one - I can see Indiana Jones being mostly fine with 30fps, but high octane frantic shooters like DOOM at 30fps? I just can't wrap my head around that so easily.

I found Doom 2016/Eternal enjoyable on Switch 1 at 30fps; I can see how they'd be better at 60 and with superior visuals, but the core gameplay was still fun.

It's a case of Your Mileage May Vary, if you're used to playing at 60fps or above on PS5/Xbox Series/PC then a hypothetical Switch 2 version may not be for you, but for those who play these kind of games on Switch 2 I don't think 30fps would be a dealbreaker.
