The most overhated Pokémon games, or maybe they deserve the hate, I don't know, I love these anyway. I know many see them as the first games of the series' new era where all the games are rushed, but me, I see these as the last great games, the last to be directed by Junichi Masuda, and I really feel like he put his whole heart into this. These were the last to have real heart. And really they had a lot of effort put into them too, what with roughly 800 Pokémon models designed and animated for this, models that are still being reused to this day.

Anyway, it's the heart that wins me over with these. The story might not be exactly Shakespeare, but somewhere in its ankle-deep characters it finds a theme and an important message, that humanity is destroying the beautiful world we were blessed with, and that rings true now more than ever as the world has only gotten worse and worse since then, both in environmental terms and in human society at large. I don't know that the game answers those concerns, but then again, what does? All we can do is keep going, each one of us trying to make things better every day, trying to spread love to each other and doing our best, and that's what this story is about. Maybe it didn't hit for most people, but it hit me hard then and harder now.

Also, the soundtrack is unbelievably good, I still can't get over how good it is. I don't know what happened with this one because most Pokémon games share many of the same composers but no game in the series comes close to this level of music, every battle theme is a certified banger, as are many of the other songs that play throughout. Given how I strongly I value soundtracks in games, maybe that's the main reason I connected so much with this. Either way, yeah, I'll always love Pokémon X & Y.

Can't say I like them as much as you or they would be on my list ofc, but X and Y are my third favorite of the series. I first played X on vacation and it hooked me more than any of the games have done since I was a kid. Other than being criminally easy they're really great games and clearly have more effort behind them than what we've seen since.

Change YoY: =   My Rating: 9.4 / 10

Ranking the Uncharted games has always been a little tricky. In terms of pure spectacle, I'd say the second game is still the peak of the series. Even if Uncharted 3's ship section perhaps outdid it in terms of sheer scale, Uncharted 2's set piece moments felt more connected to the overall story. However, as a complete package where all the different elements of the game are brought together in the most cohesive way, Uncharted 4 is the overall best entry in the series in my opinion. The Lost Legacy sits somewhere in between I suppose.

While it doesn't perhaps feature any single truly standout sections like the train level in Uncharted 2, A Thief's End is still filled with a vast array of impressive moments and sections, and in terms of storytelling and writing it stands quite comfortably above the rest of the series. In addition, the gameplay has seen some notable improvements, the stealth and gunplay feeling much more natural and fluid, and the climbing sections feeling much more versatile and responsive than before. In addition, the semi-open world sections add some very nice variety to the proceedings.

Uncharted 4 feels like the perfect sendoff to Nathan Drake, and serves as a fitting final chapter to his story. Even if the series goes on, I feel like his part in it, at least as the main protagonist, is now over. Seeing him finally wrap up his adventuring days and settle down with Elena is a perfect way to end his part in the series. Perhaps the hypothetical next game in the series might star the pair's daughter introduced in the game's epilogue chapter. Still, whether that ever happens or not, I'm perfectly satisfied with the way this story ended.

Guessed by @drbunnig

Well, last year I raved on about how nothing could compare to the experience of exploring this Hyrule for the first time, and... yeah, I was right. Not even the sequel recaptured that first time magic. And in doing so, I think it hurt my opinion of Breath of the Wild a tiny bit, but only a tiny bit. I'll always cherish this game for the masterpiece it was, for how it revolutionized open-world games and how it revolutionized the Zelda series (albeit I'm no longer confident about this new direction). It revolutionized the way I approached a video game.

I think what blew me away the most in Breath of the Wild, and this is probably the same for most people, is just how natural it felt. If you think you can do something, usually you can. Whenever faced with a problem, whatever organic solution your head comes up with probably works in the game too. This game was all about finding these little interactions, creative problem-solving. Going into the freezing mountains holding a lit torch. Using the shade to get through the heat of the desert. Cutting down a tree to bridge a gap. Feeding a dog and seeing it dig up things for you. Being attacked by a bear, or giving it fish and riding it. These were the moments that were at the heart of Breath of the Wild's experience, and sadly, the developers seemed to forget that because its sequel didn't improve on these kinds of organic interactions, instead focusing on the very not-organic "powers" they give you. Basically, they missed the whole point of their masterpiece. But that's what Breath of the Wild is, isn't it? A masterpiece. And it'll always be.
