So the demand is definitely there and the PS5 is a desirable console in the Japanese Asian market.

Most of these consoles still seem to get shipped to other countries, mainly China. Software sales still stand in no relation to the actual hardware sales. Even at 90% digital sales, physical sales would be too low.

Nintendo Switch Sports passed the 1 million mark.

I recall PSVR opening with over 50k units in Japan. Interested in how PSVR2 compares. Or will it also get exported to China in big numbers? lol.

Weird to say this in the week a ps5 game is the best selling title.

I was really hoping for 100k for HL :/

Hope PS4 and Switch releases increase the sales

Remember this is a PS5 only title for now. A 100k launch would put it above Elden Ring/GT etc....

More important will be its legs.

Nice for PS5. On track to do PS4's numbers.

I understand it, but Harry Potter is a juggernaut in Japan, so I was expecting it to sell a lot more among the PS5 crowd. A 65k considering its current userbase still a very low attachment rate. I really wanted to see some digital receipts, Elden Ring and Gran Turismo seems like games that could surpass 500k mark digital included

The influx of stocks truly smiles for the Japanese market who've been almost starved for 2 years + a big release like Harry Potter was always gonna equal to great sales.

Last year, the Switch had the release of Pokémon Arceus so it stands to reason the Switch wouldn't be able to match it. Comfortably above 2018 still so this might shape up to be a good year for the system once the heavy hitters comes in too.

Xbox Series had a decent week but it is technically down YoY and the increase in price happens this week so expect a good drop for the system in 2 weeks time.

Hmmmm I suspect Hogwarts did the same or higher digitally, no way 93,000 consoles were sold with no game….. it’s interesting would love to see digital numbers for all ps5 software to see the contrast, we know switch is physically heavy as an example.
