Alright, let's make this the actual final hint for these two games:

35) This game has several clips of live action footage, including one that creeped me out despite being very mundane
Hint 2: You could call it Conspiracy Theory: The Game
Hint 3: But what does S3 really stand for?
Hint 4: Only mainline game where you don't play as a snake

34) The protagonist of the first game is really old in this second entry, but in the third game he's young again.
Hint 2: But this game has a different protagonist who shares his name with a letter from the greek alphabet
Hint 3: Visual novel meets puzzle game
Hint 4: Originally released only on handheld consoles (3DS and Vita)

35: Metal Gear Solid 2?

Correct! I figured that one should at least be guessable.

Third set of hints then.

#30

-A secret mission taking place at the same time as the events of another game in the series

-Set in an alternate version of Europe during a great war

-A tactical RPG that masquerades as a real-time game, but is actually turn-based

#29

-The origin of the dragon and the mad dog (Yakuza 0)

#28

-The fog denotes a murder

-To get the true ending of this game requires some very specific actions to be taken

-TV at midnight

#27

-The New World features a massive wall often called "The End of the World" that divides the continent in two

-Developed by Game Arts, this game was originally released on the Sega Saturn in 1997, but only in Japan. The later Playstation port was released in the west as well

-This JRPG features voice acting, though as was quite common for games of the era, it's not exactly very good

#26

-The first game in a tetralogy, set after a trilogy, and taking place concurrently to a duology (The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel)

Silent Hill 2?

Guessed by @Ultrashroomz

I feel like I haven't given this game enough credit over the years, mostly because of a second playthrough where I wasn't feeling it. And maybe it really isn't very replayable, but, who cares. It was amazing the first time through, it's an amazing entry in the Metroid series. Maybe it does get a couple things wrong about what the franchise is supposed to be, but it gets so much more right. In all truth, this is the game, the only game in the whole series (not just the Prime games), that really felt like it opened up what Metroid is. It widened the scope on so much of this universe, what kinds of planets, wildlife, histories, civilizations, we get to know so much more. Nothing else in the franchise, not in the 20 years that preceded or in the 15 years since, has come close to this one in that sense. To be fair, keeping things a bit smaller in scope is probably for the best, both in terms of gameplay and atmosphere, but we all had our wildest dreams of how much more ambitious a Metroid game could be, and Corruption is exactly that. It's the Metroid game that dared to dream.

This may not sound exactly like how you remember it, but only because it'd be way too easy if it did. Probably still pretty easy anyway.

No. Different genre altogether.

This game is such a charming little adventure. An entertaining and moving little story about kids in a small part of the town, where the TV-studio produces a monsters show. So every friday a giant monster attacks and the Earth Defense Force repels the attack. The main protagonist Sohta has moved recently with his parents to this part of town, so he experiences this the first time. The kids believe the monsters are real (and maybe they are). So everything smoke and mirrors? There are quite a few surprises hidden here.

The game was part of the guild series. These guild games were small downloadable titles published by Level-5 in cooperation with kinda prominent japanese game designers. The idea was to give them a bit of room to explore ideas they usually can't follow. The other guild games are good too, but I love Attack of the Friday Monsters!

The gameplay consists mostly of simple puzzles to progress the story. The really great part is, how you can see the world through the kids eyes and how they interpret everything. There is also a minigame with collectible cards. The kids play it to have a ranking, and you can cast spells on other kids that rank below you.

The game is short, but it feels so good and freeing just seeing things from kids eyes and everything is much simpler.

I don't think this game (or any of the guild games for that matter) will be ported to another platform, and as they are digital only (I think there is possibly a physical version in japan of the collection), the last chance to play it is now to get it on 3DS as long as the eShop is still open. I recommend to do that.

I am quite serious here. As the 3DS eshop is closing on March 27th, this is the last chance to get the game, as I very highly doubt it gets ported to anywhere else and is only available digital. So pick it up if you even slightly interested in this kind of game, it is not even very expensive.

Anyways, some more hinting to do:

#32: Muhahaha! You think you outsmarted me, the mighty Moldorc?! I don't think so Yoked Girth!

This indie game feature pop-up book like graphics for it's tactical fight sequences.

#29: Draw the map of the high school yourself on graph paper.
This is a mashup of one game series, with the gameplay of another.
This 3DS game got one sequel.

#28: Silver haired girl.
The Dawn Brigade rebels against the occupation by the Begnion Empire.
