Capcom Co., Ltd. (Capcom) today announced that Monster Hunter Rise for Nintendo Switch has shipped 4 million units worldwide.

Further, in addition to Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, a new role-playing game scheduled for release on July 9, 2021 that will feature elements that can link with Monster Hunter Rise, Capcom will roll out a wide variety of initiatives targeting increased brand value. These include the series’ first Hollywood film adaptation Monster Hunter, which was released in Japan on March 26, 2021, and range from character merchandising and apparel to collaborations with a diverse field of companies.

Good numbers, it's very likely around 2 million copies comes from Japan. 2 million elsewhere is pretty solid still. Over 10 million sold is a given at this point and 15 million plus  might not be far from reality 

Read somewhere that it had sold 1,8 million physical in Japan in the first 3 days

But yeah, great numbers. Monster Hunter World had shipped 5 million at the same point in time on two platforms.

That is actually similar to Animal Crossing numbers. Given, Monster Hunter will be far more frontloaded. Still a great feat.

Didn't MHW launch on several platforms while MHR is a single platform launch (or where the launches on the different platforms spaced for MHW)? 

I'm curious if we will se a HW sales effekt that is tangible from MHR in Japan.
